“There's an easier way to turn on the lantern than willing it with your eyes. The light switch is over here.”
Ciaran turned and saw Maggie smiling at him. She stood at the bottom of the staircase at the end of the corridor.
He was trying to find a way to take the lantern down to see what it contained that had caused the surge of supernatural energy yesterday. His wrist unit wasn't signaling alarming amounts of supernatural energy now because he had set the unit to run on reserved energy mode. It would only signal new information. And he didn’t want to execute a new scan.
