Calum caught up to Zen as she made her way to swim practice later that day.
“Coach wasn’t happy about you missing practice yesterday. There are competitions coming up and she’s really hoping you’ll participate.” Calum said as he fell into step beside Zen.
“Didn’t anyone tell her I was home sick for the day?” Zen inquired defensively.
“I don’t know, were you sick though?” Calum asked, his eyes narrowing on her.
“In a way, I definitely needed the rest.” Zen explained, Calum laughed at that and casually took her hand as they walked. She tried to ignore the gesture, but still didn’t pull away. She still wasn’t sure how Calum was able to ignore her command from yesterday.
