The next morning Zen found herself walking to school alone, she hadn’t heard from Calum ever since their fight the previous day. She hadn’t expected to after what she’d said to him, more like commanded of him. She still felt the tug of disappointment when she walked out that morning and he wasn’t there. It wasn’t like they had any sort of standing agreement to walk together, but a small part of her had hoped he would still show up despite what she’d said to him.
Despite how yesterday had started, it ended up becoming one of the most fun days of her life. Zen had taken a shower after her nightmare and by the time she got out Mrs. Patterson was back with a box of pizza and all kinds of sugary treats. Zen had destroyed the pizza unaware of how hungry she’d been and some chocolate chip cookie
