“An emperor’s gold” Someone whispered and every attention in the room turned away from the Relater, to the man in a black hood. He was wearing a hat similar to those of the Relater’s assistant, and the short gloves suggested days of riding on horseback. There was only one mug on his table, right next to his sheltered sword. The hat hid his face, exposing only his jawline and weather-beaten lips. “Who is ready to play dice?” The man asked. He had placed his legs on the table, crossing them and relaxing his back on the wooden chair. The light hanging on the wall danced on his hat, still failing to reveal the face underneath.
