Leah’s POV

What am I doing? This isn’t right at all. Why is he doing this to me? I took a moment to breathe in and out before landing an unexpected slap on his face.

“What was that for?” He acted as if he was clueless of what he was doing to me. A look into his eyes,they were dazzling at me. He makes me feel he still wanted me but that was false- Elijah doesn’t want me in his life anymore that’s why he ended things with me years ago and out of the blue he makes me feel butterflies in my belly again. Am I that stupid to get swayed by the same man who hurt me badly leaving with his seed present inside of me. I refuse to be swayed– I can’t let this happen anymore,enough of these unpleasant feelings, it will all end in disaster, that I am sure of.

“Stop messing with my feelings Elijah,stop it!” I roared at him, losing my breath in the process.

“Leah….I…” He looked at me with those piercing blue eyes of his. He is driving me insane, I hate this.

I didn’t let him finish his statement when I raised my voice the second time, “Enough of this nonsense Elijah, I won’t let you torment me anymore. I won’t make room for such anymore, just let me be,we are no more together, you got a new mate and I am happy with my life.”

“Leah, you still have feelings for me right?” He inquired, searching my eyes for answers as if he could see through me.What if I still got feelings for him? Will that even change anything? My feelings are just silly but I made my decision a long time ago to move on so I am not having this silly conversation with him.

“Answer me Leah.” He demanded, and it’s annoying.

“I don’t answer to you Elijah, so get out of my way,I need to return to the game immediately.” I pushed him out of my way but he dragged me close again, taking me farther inside the woods with his super speed, I don’t think I will be able to walk to the game myself.What does he want with me?

“What do you want Elijah? Let me go.”

“I know you still have feelings for me and I don’t like that.” He sounded so commanding right now like I am under his mercy.

“My feelings are my business and not yours,take me back to the game right now.”

“Leave this town Leah, I don’t want to see you anymore and also you can forget about those feelings once you leave.”

“Screw you Elijah, I am not leaving town,if you have a problem with me,go kill yourself and if you won;t bring me to the game, I will walk.”

“I know you still love me, that's why you can’t leave right?” He sounded so bold as if he knew everything about me. I never knew Elijah to be this cold and heartless. I guess I was dating a total stranger in the past who used me just to have fun while in New York.

“I can see you are so full of yourself Elijah, this conversation is over, go to your Luna to be and I will return to my life, my staying here is not your business,get used to that and if you are tired of seeing my face, then don’t take the route I take, let’s avoid each other for good.” I expressed everything out of my chest to ease my pain. He really got me heartbroken again. I need to get my kids so I can fully leave this town. I don’t ever wish to see him again but fate keeps keeping me here. If my kids weren’t missing, I don’t think I would have spent weeks here in this town ruled by him.

“You don’t walk away from me Leah,I am not done talking. You are just a weak wolf with the plague and I as an alpha,I demand respect from you, when we finally return, I need you out of this town at once.”

“Do your worst Elijah.” I met with his eyes which tells me otherwise. Is there a chance that what he says from his mouth is quite different from what is in his heart? I refuse to be the weak Leah. I hate myself for kissing him twice now.

“Let go of me.” I hit his hands but he tried to hold me again. It was a bit of a struggle because he didn’t want me to leave his presence. I'd rather die than remain here talking to him. I forced his hands off him again when I suddenly slipped. I rolled down a height with injuries and all screaming out in pain and I ended up calling his name for help.

I finally landed on a different land and noticed my skin was bruised by the fall.Where am I? A lot has already happened today,can’t the remaining hours get better before we can call it a day? I got on my feet feeling so weak.

“The plague is eating you up, you need to get a spot and rest.” Cindy advised me.

“Don't worry Cindy, I can walk, you know Asher will be waiting.”

“You don’t even know your way out.”

“Just stop talking please,I will navigate my way out.” I wouldn’t have been in this tight spot if not for Elijah. He kissed me and yet he tells me he still doesn’t want me, how cruel…

I walked for about ten minutes and noticed a lot of tents like a small village with some strange looking people. What is this place? Why middle of nowhere? I walked with my curiosity piqued.

My eyes widened and my mouth opened seeing little kids forced into some of the tents. Some young adult being beaten as if they were slaves, the scene before me made my blood boil in rage mostly when my eyes landed on one of their masters dragging a girl with two other men joining him,taking off her clothes and forcing her legs wide open to rape her at the bushy area where there was no tent.

“I can’t take this anymore,I am going to save her.” I made up my mind.

“You can’t do anything, what if you end up being captured like her? Please Leah, you are still sick, turn a blind eye this once and leave before they see you.”

“I won’t do that wolf,who will save them?What if they are the ones who took my kids and my best friend?”

“Then we related this to Asher, so he can help, how do you expect to take down everyone yourself? Come on Leah.”

“I know you are worried about me, but I am doing this, I came here not by accident,maybe this is my fate to save them and I am doing that.” I grabbed the pipe from the ground ready to use it on the beast on top of the girl when a hand suddenly pulled me into a tent that looked like a storage.

“Let me go.” I said discovering it was Elijah.

“Shuu!!! Just be quiet please or we will get caught” He asked me to be quiet politely but this isn’t right at all. I should be out there saving the girl from those monsters with no conscience at all.

“Did you see the lady standing here with a pipe?” I heard a deep voice,does that mean someone was watching me and I was nearly caught? That means if he didn’t show up to save me,it would have been game over for me?

“No.”

“I think we need to check the room again to see if the girls are complete.”

“I will do that.”

“Okay, I will inspect this area again, nothing is allowed to jeopardise our mission before we get our next assignment.” Oh no, what if they come into the storage and see us.

I felt Elijah hot breath on mine, it was seductive and our body joined together because of the place we were hiding.

I suddenly notice something more scary, Elijah eyeball changing, darker veins reflecting as his gaze focused on the bruises on my wound.
