Leah’s POV

“Alpha, let us know what troubles you?” Beta Louis and Asher asked in unison,I guess they truly show him maximum respect like he is a god or something.

“Forget it, I just remembered something upsetting, that's all, I shall take my leave so take care of this mess.” He kept looking at me while talking and it was weird though. He should face his subjects instead of me,what is his problem? He finally excused himself and the beta ordered the cleaners to take care of the mess at once.

“I am sorry if that scared you,Alpha Elijah is a sweet soul.” Beta Louis explained to me and Asher followed suit.

“Yes he sure is, I guess he is just in a bad mood today but trust me, Alpha Elijah is really sweet.”

“Okay enough for Alpha Elijah, my ears ache already.” I yelled and they looked at themselves just as if I made a confusion out of what they were saying. I wish I could just scream out and let them know they are so called Alpha was my mate but he left me for power all because I am a weak as a shewolf.

“Are you also having a mood swing?” Asher asked and I nodded.

“Can we just go back to have our cake? So beta Louis, I think your alpha will be needing you since he is in a bad mood like you said.”

“Sure, see you both at the game.”

“Yeah.”Asher responded and I just went ahead and ate the cake. The scene from earlier before I passed out played again in my head.A part of me was scared of Elijah the other part of me just disliked him for hurting me but should I be worried? Well he can rot in hell for all I care.

“Are you sure you are okay?” Asher asked me again.

“Of course I am okay, come on, eat more cake with me.”

“Okay but you look scary right now.”

I forced a smile trying to act normal and Cindy kept giving the thought that maybe Elijah was just jealous seeing Asher around me that close and I find that so hard to believe anyway. He can’t be jealous mostly when he is done with me already,so annoying. I did my best to clear the thought about him from my head and focus on just Asher alone..

“It’s time.” Asher said with excitement after moments of talking about the cakes and other exciting things around the tent.

“After you then.”

“Nah, I will be holding your hands so I don’t lose you because it’s going to be a bit crowded in the woods.” He explained and I nodded my head in approval.

“Okay then,”

He squatted on the ground and I wondered why he did that.

“Come on, hop on.” He said to me,

“You mean I should climb on your back?”

“Yes, you can’t see the beauty of the woods with just walking, you know.”

“I think I will pass.”

“I don’t think so, I will be going against your will this time around and I am sorry in advance.” He said it and with the way he sounded,I can tell he means everything he said and he was going to do it.

“Oh come on, don’t be a mood spoiler, get on his back already.” Cindy was also in support and before I could blink he already carried me on his back and I had no other choice but to hold onto him so tight so I didn't fall off. I closed my eyes because I was so scared.

“My lady, I think you need to open those cute eyes of yours, you are missing a lot of fun you know…just trust me..”

Leah, you got this. All you need to do is to slowly open your eyes and see the so-called beauty he has been bragging about. I opened my eyes, and to be sincere,I was lost in a fantasy world. This is amazing!!! I don't know the right words to put in use but this is…breathtaking. The flowers saying hello to me, the birds singing to welcome us and the people moving at various speeds ... .I am just wowed.

This lasted for a few moments while we were here.I was made to sit at the front seat and he said to me, “Please don’t go missing, I need to join them now..”

“Stop it already,I won’t go missing,I am a full grown adult you know.”

“For others, yes but for me, you are just a baby,wish me luck.” He winked at me and took his leave. Other ladies joined me as well.

“Hi, my name is Candy and you?”

“Leah!”

“Nice to meet you Leah, I am so excited to watch the game.” She giggled and was trying so hard to get so close to me, is this how they behave here?

“Yes, I am.” I kept my response as brief as possible.

“So who is your mate among them?”

“Huh?” Isn’t that too direct to ask? I wondered deeply.

“I mean, is your man among the people in the game?”

“I don’t have one now but my friend is among them.”

“That makes us two, my lover died last year so I’m all single,alone,I like you as a friend so if you don’t mind,can we be best of friends?” She made the puppy look, I pitied her immediately she made mention of her late lover.I know this must be hard for her. I wonder how she is coping and I will say I like her energy as well,there is no harm in making a new friend here so I don’t always end up being with Asher all the time.

“That sounds nice!!” I cheered a bit to make her feel loved.

The game started and I screamed when I saw Asher among the others playing. She joined me because I noticed everyone was rooting for their person in the game.

The first game is to shift into a wolf in the presence of everyone and we see who the winner is that depends on the seconds spent by shifting.

He took off his shirt and I was mesmerised by his chiseled chest, “Oh mine, your friend is damn hot!!”

“You can say that again”

Asher wink at me and I blushed so hard.

“I sense some love in the air with the way your cheeks are red.” Candy teases.

“Nah, it’s normal for my cheek to be red mostly when I am celebrating like this.” I lied and she laughed her way out.

The referee began his instructions and all,any minute for now he will blow the whistle for them to start.”

“Leah, I think someone has been staring at you for a long time now.” She whispered to me and turning to the direction she pointed,my eyes landed on Alpha Elijah who just arrived at the game but he was opposite.

“Do you know the alpha that well?”

“No, I don’t!!” I hurried in response with my eyes still stuck on him.

“Okay,maybe he likes you.”

“No,he doesn’t.” A lady joined him as well and the MC made a loud announcement saying “Alpha Elijah and his future Luna, Sarah Walters is here, let’s welcome them properly.” Everyone stood up clapping and bowing to greet them except me but I had to eventually when Candy pushed me to.

He handled her with care to sit and my entire body was on fire,I stared at him dangerously.

“Wow,his Luna is so beautiful, this is my first time seeing her.”

“She is not beautiful, take a good look at me, am I not looking more good than her? Even if my parents died of a plague,even if I might be weak but I am strong at combat, you know, he is just blind.” I complained nonstop.

“Leah,are you alright? You sound jealous but it’s weird because you said you don’t know the alpha and now you sound like you know him.”

Damn it,was I that loud?

“Please excuse me.” I said taking my leave. I needed to be far away so I could breathe. Does he have to make such an entrance? I get it, he left me for her because she is better than me,I should never have attended this game.Why am I so worked out? I ran my hand through my hair,dishevelling it when his aura filled the place I was and just like that Elijah emerged from the shadows, he pulled me with speed to a place so distant from where the game was happening.

“What the hell is…” He shut me up with a gentle kiss. It was as if time had slowed down and all that exited was just the two of us.Lost in the magic of the woods,his lips were warm and inviting and I felt myself melting into him. He deepened the kiss, the world around us began to fade away. The trees, the leaves,the sky- everything disappeared, leaving only the sensation of his lips on mine.

I felt his arms wrap around me,pulling me closer as he explored my mouth with his tongue. The kiss was passionate,yet tender and I felt myself getting lost in the emotion of it all.

As we finally broke apart for air,I looked up at Elijah,our eyes met in a moment of pure connection. The wood around us were silent,as if holding their breath in anticipation of what would happen next.
