Leah POV
I miss Elijah so much, when is he coming to New York to see me?
“Cindy, I have a feeling that when Elijah returns, he will be taking me along to his pack.” I said to my wolf form, Cindy.
“Yes, we are mates, so the ritual must be done to tighten our bond.”
“I can't wait to be his wife, finally I will get to know his family, his pack, and everything. Do you think Elijah is a beta or a rogue?”
“I think he might be an Alpha, I can smell the Alpha blood flowing in him.”
“If Elijah is an Alpha, then I will be his Luna, I will be so happy, I will end up with my first love, a beautiful tale I will tell my kids.”
“Here she goes again, we need to find means to be able to fully shift, you know.”
“I know Cindy, but I am trying. I have met some pack doctors here, there is still no cure at all but don't worry, I can still feel a little of your strength.” I said to her,
“I know that, but being a Luna, you must be able to shift in the presence of everyone to show you respect.”
“Okay, fine, I heard you.”
A text message popped on my phone immediately, and it was from Elijah. I jumped in excitement and opened it,“Let's meet tonight at our usual spot.”
“Okay, love, I can't wait, and I miss you so much.” I replied to him keeping my phone.
I need to look great tonight, I guess I need to go for a little shopping and also do some magic to my hair.

It was time, I took a taxi to meet Elijah at our usual spot, I was wearing a white short gown and heels with my hair packed fully.
Immediately I saw him, I hugged him so tight,“I missed you so much.”
He took my hands off him, saying,“Please be a little distance from me.” I found it really strange, why would he be so cold all of a sudden?
“Okay, talk to me, is anything happening?”
“I realize I made a mistake in accepting you as my mate.” I staggered a little, I must have misheard things from him, he loves me no matter how weak or strong I might be.
“What are you saying? How can you call us being together a mistake?”
“I, Alpha Elijah, reject you Leah as my mate, I don't ever want to see you again, delete my number from your phone and let's part ways this minute.”
Hot tears rolled from my eyes, I could feel something left me immediately he mentioned the word rejected.
“Why? You can't do this to me, Elijah, I love you, remember our promises.”
“Promises are meant to be broken Leah, I never loved you, I just used you to have fun in New York, you need to face reality.”
“Please don't do this Elijah, I might die of a heart attack, please I beg you, you are my first love, my everything, don't leave me please.”
“You are an orphan for heaven’s sake and I don't want my pack to die of the plague that wiped your pack, so get lost for life.” His eyes were so cold, and he didn't even pity me at all.
“Goodbye Leah, I hope we never crosspath with each other ever again.” He walked away, and I screamed, crying and begging him.
I rushed to hold him, but he pushed me and I had a little bruise on my arms. He saw this but turned a blind eye, “Screw you Elijah!” I yelled. He ignored me and was finally out of sight.
How can he do this to me? We love each other so much, and occasionally, they call us beautiful couples. What did I do to make him hate me all of a sudden and abandon me?

It's been weeks since Elijah left me, no calls or messages from him, I couldn't even eat food at all, I want death to take me, so I can join my family as well, but I realize I have started hating him.
His words kept playing in my head,“You are an orphan for heaven’s sake and I don't want my pack to die of the plague that wiped your pack, so get lost for life.”
I might be an orphan, but I am somebody. Tonight will be the last time I will cry for love. I will never love again, never, I hate all of you.
“You need to get a grip on yourself.” My wolf form said to me.
“I will, now we left New York, let's start a new life here in Las Vegas, no one knows us here.”
“Surely, we will be given a second chance, mate.”
“No, I don't want any more mates, I am okay being single, I will take the teaching job and try to love my life.”
“I know you are hurt, Leah, but that doesn't mean everyone will turn out to be like him, you know.”
“Cindy, stop talking, I want to be left alone.” I said leaving the apartment to take a walk around and Cindy kept mute.
“Hey there, you must be the new tenant, I live in room 67.”
“Okay.”
“My name is Jessica and I normally like to welcome everyone who comes in newly, this is for you.”
“Oh, thank you, Jessica, I truly appreciate it, my name is Leah.”
“Nice to meet you, Leah, I hope you are enjoying your stay here?”
“Not really, I am new here, so I don't know places like that.”
“Then allow me to be your tour guide, you will love your stay in Las Vegas.”
I was about to respond when I felt dizzy already and some pains around my tummy,I collapsed immediately.

I woke up and found myself in the hospital and was receiving drips,“What happened?”
“We passed out.” Cindy said to me.
Jessica came in with the doctor looking all happy.
“Jessica, what happened?”
“Good news, Cindy, you are three weeks pregnant.”
