Chapter 2 Leah POV I came home thanks to Jessica, but I didn't say a word. I was lost in my thoughts—how can this be? I want to end things fully with Elijah; why must I be pregnant for him? This is not fair at all, having kids for the man who rejected me. What kind of twisted fate is this? There must be a way out of everything; I can't stand it. "Leah, are you here with me?" "What are you thinking about?" She tapped me, and I smiled, saying, "Nothing." "Okay, you need to get as much rest as possible, okay?" "Your baby needs to be in good health. I know we just met, but I am ready to be your friend and sister." "I don't need anyone in my life; I don't want this pregnancy; just get out, Jessica." "Hey, calm down. I don't know what happened or why you are this angry, but as my mother will say, children are blessings from above." "Blessings my foot, what I can see here is that they will only offer me miserable pains." "You have to learn to accept this fate, Leah, stop getting upset at everyone." Cindy said to me, but I silenced her, saying, "I would rather not hear you speak, Cindy; just remain calm." I faced her, saying, "So take your sermons to someone else, Jessica, and let me be." "What are you saying, Leah?" "I don't know your story, but I want to help you as a friend; don't push me away, okay?" "I said leave right now." I yelled, and she took her leave immediately. I closed the door with anger and threw everything on the ground until I was satisfied, then I fell to the ground and started crying. "I hate you, Elijah; you are a cold-blooded monster." I scattered my hair, crying like a baby. I finally dozed off in that state and dreamt about the night he left me. "I, Alpha Elijah, reject you, Leah, as my mate. I don't ever want to see you again. Delete my number from my phone, and let's part ways this minute." I opened my eyes, sweating all over, and realised I was on my bed, and the whole place I had scattered looked neat. What happened? I saw Jessica coming to me with a plate of soup and saying, "You are awake; I made this for you; have it; I will finish the rest of work." I didn't say a word to her when she dropped the plate of soup. I felt the sound in my stomach; I am starving, and the soup is what I truly need right now. I rushed and took it, emptying the entire plate. I stood up from my bed and walked to the bathroom to take my bath, and I started crying again, spending hours in the bathroom. "Leah, you must leave the restroom to avoid catching a cold." "Go away, Jessica, I don't need you, just go." "Can you stop pushing me away?" "I really want to help you, okay, step out now." I turned off the shower and came out wearing my clothes, but I ignored Jessica and walked out of the house. I simply desired to walk to my death without stopping for a moment. In the process, I saw a baby in a cargo bike, but the mother was not there; she was crying, and I yelled, "Can you stop crying that loud?" I suddenly felt different looking at the baby's eyes, she was so cute, and I saw myself playing with her. "Baby, you need to stop crying, okay?" Your mom will be here soon." She stopped crying and was laughing with me,then her mother came, she thanked me for helping her look after her baby, and I left. I touched my stomach and suddenly found a reason to live and be happy. My unborn child will replace the hurt with happiness for me. I can be happy again by being a mother and focusing on my kids. I turned back, heading home. I think I owe Cindy and Jessica an apology. "I am sorry, Cindy, you are right, maybe this is my fate." "You don't have to be sorry, okay, I've always got you. Who needs your apology the most is Jessica." "Yes, I will do that. She is truly a good friend the moon goddess sent to me, so I won't be lonely. Too bad she is not a wolf like me." "Wolf or no wolf, what matters the most is the heart." "Yes, you are right." I returned home, and Jessica saw me. She was happy. "You are back." "I am sorry, and I also want to thank you." "You don't have to be sorry; I understand you are hurt, so I didn't take it to heart at all. Come with me,I prepared something nice." "Wow, it seems you know I am starving already." I smiled at her and went to her apartment to eat. We started talking from that day on, and she became a very close friend of mine. She told me about her story, her mother was betrayed by the man she loved, and he took everything from her, making her poor again. Then she discovered she was pregnant. She had no choice but to face life, and she never regretted giving birth to Jessica. I had the opportunity to meet her mother, and I got so much advice from her that I think I am ready to also be a mother. * * *8 months and a few weeks later* I would say life in Las Vegas is interesting, and I have fully forgotten about everything about my past and buried it, nothing will ever make me return to it. I am sorry, Jeremy, I know I made a promise, but like your brother said to me, promises are meant to be broken. I was watching TV when a knock came at the door. I knew it was Jessica, but something feels off,my water broke, and I screamed.
