Leah's POV
Someone walked in and turned around immediately and we stopped kissing,“I’m sorry,I will be at the dining table for breakfast.”
Damn it,why did he let Angela see us?
“I’m sorry Leah,this was never meant to happen,you took advantage of my sleep,I thought it was someone else.“ He got on his feet, turning the whole thing to me and I couldn't even utter a word because I was still trying to recover from the shock I was in.
Wait, did he just say I took advantage of the situation and made the move to kiss him?
That bastard… How dare he? Damn it Leah,what have I done?
“I told you your heart thinks differently.” Cindy is trying to make me feel guilty.
“Come on Cindy,I don't love him,he kissed me and not me.”
“But you wanted more right? Tell me the truth if. Angela didn't come in and interrupted you guys,what would have happened next?“
“You know what Cindy,you are worse and I am not taking this s**t from him, I am going to him now.” I walked out angrily and screamed his name.
“ELIJAH!!!!”
Where the hell is he?
I had to calm down at the sight of Hannah,she is just a kid.
“Good morning Miss Leah? How are you feeling this morning?” I can't believe she is a kid with an adult soul living in her.
“Yes, Hannah,I feel much better now and I guess I might be going home today, there are so many things I need to do.”
“Sure,I understand, let's have breakfast together,mom already prepared our meal so early.”
“Sure,I will join you soon.”
I left the place immediately after breakfast,I should be out there looking for my kids and not having fun here. I love the fact I was welcomed here and I also hated the fact Elijah had to be the one who brought me here.
I finally arrived at my home and I felt alive again. I just need to get a clue in finding out about my kids. I powered up my phone, got dressed and headed to the station where Asher works. I just pray he has gotten something useful for me to find my kids.
“Leah!!!!” He hugs me so tight like I was gone for years.
“That’s enough Asher, you can let go now.”
“I’m so sorry but tell me, where have you been? I was sick and worried thinking someone captured you.” His eyes tell me how concerned he was about my whereabouts.
“I was on treatment at Angela's home but I am fine now.”
“You mean Angela, the mate to our late Alpha Jeremy?”
“Yes but I am okay now, that aside,please tell me you got news about my kids?”
“Let's sit somewhere.” He suggested and I nodded my head in approval. We ended up going to a nearby restaurant and I just ordered chicken and chips while I await the news he has to share with me about my missing kids. I really hope this is worth what I am expecting to hear.
“So?”
“Well, some kids were taken again and it turns out their targets are kids.”
“Is that all?’
“The lady you went to see remains our only hope and she is refusing to speak with us, did you get something from her?” I nodded my head, if I hadn't passed out the other day,I would have tried again and again till I got something useful from her.
“No I didn’t, I failed but I will try again, if she is our only hope.” I assured him but he was smiling, he kind of looked cute though..
“What is it? Why are you smiling?”
“The good news is that Mrs Betty is requesting to have dinner with you,I believe your first visit made a great impression on her.”
“Are you serious?” I shouted and seeing everyone looking at us,I brought my voice down a little, “Are you serious?”
“You are such a drama queen, yes, I am damn serious.”
“So what are we waiting for? You should have shared such news with me first instead of making me lose hope.”
“I was trying to follow the order of things, the bad news and the good news to make you feel much better.’”
“You are something else.” Cindy jumped in excitement with me because the kids will be found in no time once Mrs Betty shares some information with us. I just hope this leads in bringing my kids back home so we can leave this town for good.
“So how are you feeling in between?”
“I feel better now, you don’t have to worry Asher.”
I had a great time with Asher, I will say getting to know him made me realise he is a sweet gentleman but too bad I was not ready to open my heart to anyone after my first experience with Elijah.
We later met with Mrs Betty who welcomed me properly this time around and made me sit, Asher was not allowed in, I have a feeling she might have rage for guys.
We had a discussion about how the kids were kidnapped, she mentioned a lady with tattoos on her body came in to make home delivery,she actually acted all nice to her not knowing her intention was to drug her and capture her child. She gave me the drawings of the tattoo she saw on the shoulder of the girl and a portrait of her. Mrs Betty is a great artist, I thanked her and promised her we are going to get our kids and this information is enough to tail them and catch those bastards.
I stepped out and acted like I had no information to see the reaction of Asher, as expected he tried to encourage me, then I jumped on his body with excitement saying, “We got a clue..”
“Really?”
“Yes.” We celebrated the moment and I shared the details with him. On the drive home,he promised me to use the clue to find those jerks.
He walked me into my apartment, that aura….. Don’t tell me……
“Leah!!!” I knew it, it was Elijah.
“Alpha Elijah, I didn’t know you were here.” He bowed down to greet him, I scoffed.
“Tell me Asher, what is your relationship with Leah?”
Really? Like is he mad or something?
“Know your place Elijah, my relationship with him is none of your business.”
“Leah, he is the alpha, what are you doing? —Please Alpha, forgive her..”
Asher was just a loyal subject to his alpha,what was I expecting? I need to hurt him back in return.
“No problem Asher, just tell me your relationship with her?”
“Hold Asher,I will answer that question myself..” I walked closer to Elijah with our eyes locked together, “Asher is my man, do you have a problem with that? So leave my house at once, you are not welcome here.” I turned around but he yelled at me, “So he is welcomed here and I am not?” Wait a minute… is he—
