It The Vampire Queen's Pet Chapter 20 Jax's point of view. After sharing a sexy shower with my little Vampire, we fall into bed exhausted after we've spent the day getting everything in tip-top condition; Ysabella joined us as we oiled the weapons in the underground storage. No one asked her to help; she just likes to keep herself busy. I think it helps to take her mind off what's coming. I hold her tight, afraid of letting go; Ysabella wraps her legs around me, making sure that I can't let go, cherishing every last minute of our time together over the last couple of days, neither of us knowing what tomorrow may bring. Twenty four hours until D-Day. When I wake up in the morning, Ysabella is awake, watching me with those beautiful eyes, and I chuckle as I say. "You know it's creepy to watch people when they sleep." She giggles as she replies. "Especially when you're a Vampire." I pull her towards me, so I can kiss her sweet lips as I say. "You are the least scariest Vampire in the world baby, why are you awake so early anyway?" "I couldn't sleep." She replies before I ask her. "Are you worried about us facing King Areon tomorrow?" She nods her head, her eyes going wide with fear at the mention of his name. "A little; I'm worried that he will hurt you, Jax. I know what he's capable of. That man is a monster." I smile at her. "Don't worry about me, baby; I've faced bigger men than Areon." I say, trying to ease her fears, I've taken him down once, and I intend to do it again. I know exactly what he's capable of. I've seen the destruction that he leaves behind first-hand. If I'm honest, I am nervous because now it's not only me that I have to worry about. I have Ysabella in my life too, and I know just how much Areon wants her back. He will be the laughing stock of all those fancy Vampires when they know that his trophy wife ran away from him, and I know he will want his revenge. God only knows what he would do to Ysabella if he got his hands on her. I won't let that happen. I hook up a fresh bag of blood for her, and once it's run through the drip, we head into the living area together, giving Bear a shock when he sees Ysabella up so early. "Jesus, Ysabella, are you ill?" He says with a chuckle; Ysabella laughs. "Hey, cheeky, I can do early. What can I help you with today, Big fellow?" She says as she looks up to Bear. He shakes his head. "I don't know how you can cook food that you can not eat; I wouldn't be able to do it.". She sighs as she replies. "I like the smell of it cooking, especially the bacon." Bear pulls her into his massive arms, messing up her hair in a friendly gesture as he says. "Maybe one day, kiddo, you can eat that bacon again." "God, I hope so." She replies with a groan." We spend the morning relaxing; everything has been checked and rechecked again, so we know that we are ready to move out at dawn. We have our last meeting planned for this afternoon so we can make sure that everyone knows their place. The teams outside of the bunker will be involved in the meeting through a video link. After dinner, when all the guys have been fed and watered, we call everyone into the main living area, where all of the screens are already set up for the video links. It's impressive to see just how many we have on our side and Stan's ugly mug. I've missed the guys from the Crypt these past few weeks. Ysabella gets a bit emotional when her eyes fall on Dylan; it's no wonder, though, as the last time she saw him, he didn't look so good, and she had no idea if he would make it. We run through the plans making sure that each and every man knows exactly where they should be. Cookie doesn't look so pleased when I tell him he will be staying behind with a team to protect Ysabella, but he nods his head In understanding. It's an important job, and I know that he won't let me down. When I turn to look at Ysabella, she looks livid; she crosses her arms over her chest as she says. "No way, I'm coming with you." I hold out my hand to take hers as I say. "I need to know that you are safe, baby, and the safest place for you is here.." She rolls her eyes as she says. "You know he won't face you if I'm not there, he will hide behind his guards." I pull her into my arms. "He won't get a chance to hide Ysabella, we're going in when he won't expect it, and he's the first one I'm heading for. Thanks to you, I know where he sleeps, I know where his room is, and I need to make it quick; I'm sorry baby, I know what's this means to you, and I know how much you want your revenge, but I can not take you with me, he will use you to get to me, and I won't let that happen." Bear stands up; he looks at Ysabella before he says. "Jax is right, sweetheart. You ran away from him, and he will want to punish you for it. King Aroen isn't the only Vampire that this team has taken down, and he isn't the biggest either. We've done this many times, and when we move in, it will be quick. He won't know what's hit him, nor will he have time to react. Only this time, Ysabella, you will get your revenge as he's going to be brought to you in chains like the animal that he is, and he will kneel at your feet and beg for your forgiveness, Darlin before we take him to the high Witch and hopefully give you back your life." Isabella sighs, nodding her head as she replies. "Okay, I promise I will stay here with Cookie and his team, but please be careful though King Aaron is ruthless, he will take you down with whatever means he can. He doesn't play fair. I chuckle, pulling her into my arms as I say. "Don't I f*****g know it, don't worry, baby, we will be wearing gas masks when we storm the Palace, I know he plays dirty, but we will not be falling for his tricks again. We have every possibility covered." She nods her head in agreement. I know she's not happy about it, but I'm thankful that she understands why I can't take her with me.
