Chapter 2: The Accident

660 Words
Alex's first day of college was everything he had dreamed of and more. He was excited to start his journey as a law student, and the beautiful campus of Oakwood University only added to his enthusiasm. As he walked to his first class, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. But little did Alex know, his day was about to take a dramatic turn. As he turned a corner, lost in thought, he accidentally bumped into a tall, brooding figure. The man's piercing blue eyes narrowed, and his chiseled jaw clenched in annoyance. "Watch where you're going, kid," the man growled, his deep voice sending a shiver down Alex's spine. Alex apologized profusely, but the man just glared at him. That was when Alex noticed the man's hands – they were covered in blood. "Oh my god, are you okay?" Alex asked, his concern genuine. The man's expression changed in an instant. He looked around nervously, then back at Alex. "Listen, kid, I need your help," the man said, his voice low and urgent. "I need you to cover for me. I was just... uh... involved in an accident. Yeah, that's it. An accident." Alex's eyes widened as he realized what was happening. This man was involved in something shady, and he needed Alex's help to cover it up. But before Alex could respond, the sound of sirens filled the air. The man's eyes locked onto Alex's, filled with a desperate plea. "Please, kid, you have to help me. I'll do anything. Just don't let them catch me." Alex's heart was racing, but he knew he had to make a decision fast. He looked around, saw the police cars approaching, and made a split-second decision. "Follow me," Alex said, grabbing the man's arm and pulling him into a nearby alleyway. As they hid in the shadows, Alex's mind was racing. Who was this man? What had he done? And why had Alex just agreed to help him? The man's eyes never left Alex's face, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Alex felt a shiver run down his spine as he realized that he was attracted to this mysterious stranger. But he pushed the thought aside, focusing on the situation at hand. They had to get out of there before the police found them. As they waited for the police to pass by, Alex couldn't help but steal glances at the man. He was tall, with broad shoulders and a chiseled jawline. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into Alex's soul, and his dark hair was messy and unkempt. Alex felt a flutter in his chest as he realized that he was drawn to this man. But he knew it was crazy – they had just met, and the man was clearly involved in something shady. As the police cars drove by, the man let out a sigh of relief. "Thanks, kid," he said, his voice low and gravelly. "I owe you one." Alex shook his head. "You don't owe me anything. But you need to tell me what's going on. What happened?" The man hesitated, then seemed to make a decision. "My name is Jake," he said. "And I'm in a bit of trouble." Alex raised an eyebrow. "What kind of trouble?" Jake glanced around nervously, then leaned in close. "I'm involved with some people," he whispered. "People who wouldn't hesitate to hurt me if they found out I was talking to the police." Alex's eyes widened as he realized the extent of Jake's situation. He was in deep, and Alex had just gotten himself involved. But as he looked into Jake's piercing blue eyes, Alex knew that he couldn't just walk away. He had to help Jake, no matter the cost. And as they made their way out of the alleyway, Alex knew that his life was about to change in ways he never could have imagined. To be continued...
