“I was tired,” Gabriel said. Anthony hummed in response and went back to focusing on his next attempt on eggs. He made scrambled eggs, because that was the easiest egg to make. He plopped four of them right down in the bacon grease, and the resounding sizzle was pleasing, if nothing else. And it smelled good. Gabriel’s stomach growled loud enough that Anthony could hear it, but he didn’t laugh. If anything, he rolled his eyes and grumbled under his breath like he was the one taking care of Gabriel. When Anthony served breakfast, it was by dropping things rather unceremoniously on the plate. He had no mind for presentation, but Gabriel was too tired to really mind.
