As chaos erupted in the mansion, Mirabel was swiftly ushered into a private room of her own, her mind racing with a whirlwind of fear and concern. Alone in the dimly lit chamber, she could hear the muffled sounds of commotion echoing through the walls as Rajah and his mother dealt with their unexpected visitors. Clutching her still flat belly, Mirabel couldn't shake the sense of unease that settled over her like a heavy shroud. "What have I gotten myself into?", she cried.
Just a moment later Ruth joined her, she was slightly nudged by one of the guards and the door was slammed and locked right after. "What the hell man!", she yelled out and bang the door once. She turned to see where she was and was overjoyed to see her best friend in the room, she hurriedly walked over to her and embraced her knowing she was as scared as she was.
"There there, it's gonna be alright babe".
Outside, the tension reached a boiling point as the guests made their presence known, their voices echoing through the halls as they demanded answers. "We know you're hiding a woman in this mansion, a human for to be precise. We want her," they declared, their words a chilling reminder of the danger Mirabel now found herself in. She could see and see everything from where was, and they weren't really trying to be quiet anyway.
Rajah and his mother exchanged a glance, their expressions a mix of confusion and concern. How had the news traveled so fast? And who could have possibly betrayed their trust and revealed Mirabel's presence in their home?
"Who gave you this information? I demand to know", Rajah said from a distance.
"It doesn't matter, now does it?", Cain one of the men answered.
"Did you just confirm our suspicion?", Bryce, the leader of the pack speaks up takes some steps forward to show himself.
After much deliberation, they reached a decision. They would meet with the council the next day to explain the situation, but they both knew that revealing the truth was out of the question. Certain truths were forbidden, and the consequences of breaking that rule were too dire to contemplate.
..............
As they prepared for the meeting, Rajah's thoughts turned to the betrayal that had brought them to this point. Someone close enough had the information given to the Alpha of the neighboring pack, someone had betrayed their trust and endangered Mirabel's life in the process. Suddenly the need to protect her over shadowed him after realizeing what could happen if things were not handled carefully, it was be on his head and that would definitely bring war not only to the werewolves but between human their kind. So Rajah was determined to find out who wwould dare cross the Aguileras.
With each passing moment, the weight of their predicament hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over the mansion and all who dwelled within its walls. As the night stretched on, Rajah's resolve hardened, his determination to uncover the truth fueling his every move. As he sat beside his dressing mirror one leg over the other slowly sipping on whikey a knock broke his concentration, peeping behing the door was the curly haired woman he thought he'd never see again. "Come in Mirabel, I know you're there", he said without looking in her direction.
After hearing the tone in his voice Mirabel slowly let herself in while analiyzing every thing she came across, his room was definitely that of a man like himself. His room exudes an air of refined opulence, draped in rich, dark hues that lend an aura of sophistication. His bed and dressing mirror was made from ebony wood, intricately carved and polished to a high sheen, The bedding were plush and Royal purple in color, velvet drapes that cascade from ceiling to floor. A grand canopy wardrobe, adorned with imported arabian mirrors on every door and drawer, it beckons with its promise of luxurious repose. Gilded accents catch the soft glow of lamplight, casting intricate shadows across the walls adorned with paintings of serene landscapes and some she had to look away from. In this sanctuary of quiet elegance, every detail speaks of wealth and taste, a testament to the man's discerning eye.
Rajah watched as she took in the marvel of what is his bedroom, the Alpha's quarters. He gestured at the seat next to him for her to sit, he way he pointed was like a command so she did. "What brings you to my room of all the rooms you can explore, looking for some inspiration to paint?"
Mirabel blushed at the fact that he remebered her passion, all this time she thought he was just looking for a hook up to ease himself. Despite the cold look on his face, she saw through his arrogance. A hint of care broke through all that macho, as an artist she could see beyond what people would show. "I need answers, and I need them now or I'm going to lose my mind".
"My mother is more than happy to answer your questions, I'm too busy", he hissed and let out a sigh of exhaustion.
"Your mother didn't get me pregnant, you did-"
"Still doubtful-", he said in between her senences annoying her.
"-and since you did you're gonna be the one to provide those answers", she insisted never minding how hurt she was by his comment.
Rajah rolled his eyes and set his glass on the mini marble table in between them, he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his thighs as he looked her dead in the face and allowed her to bother him just this once. "Make it quick little doll", refering to her short size since she was a little above five one.
"There's no need for name calling, you don't see me calling you a a neanderthal", she said with sass before continuing her interrogation. After Rajah chuckled loudly in his deep finally sitting back in his chair she went on to say, "I still don't understand how I could be pregnant, three years ago I had an abusive boyfriend. He use to hit me every chance he got, long story short one day he beat me to the point of nearly death and I lost my womb so I don't have one. The doctors said I would never carry a child ever, but then you happened and a month later I'm getting a positive test. How?" her voice shaking as her eyes filled with tears.
As Mirabel opened up Rajah's face loosened up and confusion yet understanding filled his head, he was still far from believing her but decided to give her an answer that would just confuse her even more. "Let's say I believe you alright", he leaned forward once again, brought his hands together and pointed at her with both fingers, "which I don't, what you're is no ordinary child. It's supernatural"
...........
And so, as dawn broke over the forest, Rajah set out on a quest to unravel the mystery of the intruder who had infiltrated their sanctuary before he and Mirabel set off to meet the council. For Mirabel's safety, and for the sake of their fragile peace, he would stop at nothing to uncover the truth and ensure that order was enforced again.
