Chapter Seven

691 Words
As dusk descended upon the sprawling mansion, casting long shadows across its grand facade, Mirabel found herself drawn to the highest room. There, she spotted Rajah gazing down at her, his expression unreadable from the distance. A sense of longing tugged at her heart as she met his gaze, wondering what thoughts lay hidden behind his stoic facade. Rajah, staring into the garden, still felt a certain pull towards Mirabel. The shadow of her lucious curves graced the ground she walked on, her dark and shiny complexion glissened in the sunset. A true definition of sn kissed, in that moment everything disappeared as he walked down memory lane back to Mirabel's office where they shared the most passionate encounter he'd ever experienced. For weeks he tried his best not to think about it but seeing her there made it even harder, his heart pace started to pick up as he replayed their moment alone over and over in his head. His name echoed about three times before he realized he was being called by Rachel who was in the middle of a discussion with his mother, as a matter of fact he was pat of the discussion before disappeared in thought. "Like what you see babe?". Rachel said furiously. "Don't be rdiculous, am I not allowed to look through my own window darling?", his deep husky voice vibrating through Rachel's body. He turne away fom the window and continued their discussion so they could get it over and done with. Meanwhile, Ruth, ever the voice of reason, attempted to persuade Mirabel to reconsider her decision to stay. "Mirabel, I don't feel right about this place. We should go back home," she pleaded, her concern etched in the furrow of her brow. But Mirabel remained resolute, her mind made up despite her friend's warnings. "I need answers", she thought to herself. There was something about Rajah, about this mansion, that called to her, and she couldn't ignore it. Later that evening, Valenthia, summoned Mirabel once again, her expression grave as she ushered her into a secluded chamber. Before revealing the truth, Valenthia dropped a bombshell that sent shockwaves through Mirabel's already tumultuous world. "Before we get into things, Rajah is engaged to Rachel the woman you met earlier," she confessed, her voice tinged with sorrow. "It's a little complicated." Mirabel's heart sank at the revelation, her mind reeling with the implications of Rajah's engagement. The thought of him being bound to another filled her with a sense of despair even though she couldn't deny the pull she felt towards him, the inexplicable connection that seemed to transcend all logic. She hid her disappointment and looked unbothered, like he wasn't what she was looking for all this time and this made Rajah quite upset for he expected her to be balling her eyes out. Before Valenthia could elaborate further, a cacophony of alarms shattered the stillness of the evening, sending tremors of panic through the mansion. A group of people approached the estate, their intentions unknown but their presence setting off a chain reaction of chaos. Rajah and Valenthia sensed them from the moment they set foot in the yard, their scent was stong and raging with anger as though they came for war. In a flurry of activity, well-built men and women emerged from the mansion, their faces set in grim determination as they prepared to defend their home. Valenthia's expression hardened as she surveyed the scene unfolding before her, her eyes flashing with resolve as she braced herself for whatever lay ahead. As Mirabel watched the scene unfold, a sense of unease settled over her, mingling with the fear and uncertainty that gnawed at her insides. What secrets lay hidden within these walls? And what role did she play in the unfolding drama that threatened to engulf them all? With each passing moment, the stakes grew higher, and Mirabel couldn't shake the feeling that her life would never be the same again. As the tension mounted and the household was made uneasy with their unexpected guests she couldn't help but wonder why it felt llike a war was about to start.
