WILLIAMS KNOX
As soon he heard the door close, Williams realized he shouldn’t have lost her temper like that in Lisa’s presence.
Lisa only did her job by keeping him informed, and he went berserk yelling at her like a cave man.
He closed his eyes, placed his head on his hands,, remembering how frightened and shocked she had looked, at his outburst, and knew he would have to apologize to her soonest..
The weight on his heart felt lighter, which meant he had made the right decision, and was satisfied with it. He couldn’t help but smile when he recalled the reactions from his staff today.
He usually doesn’t inform anyone, Lisa inclusive, on days when he really wanted to see how his employees were doing by using the front door.
It always gave him great joy to know that he had not only built a team, but a family who took great pride in working for him, and are tenacious about getting results.
Being the only son of Daniel Knox, his father, and founder of Knox Enterprises, he was raised with the knowledge that he would one day continue in the footsteps of his father, and be handed the reigns of this business to carry on it’s legacy.
Williams didn’t have the typical rich kid treatment, who was over pampered, and exposed to affluence and wealth. Sure he enjoyed certain perks, but not until he had earned it rightfully through hard work.
His kind of upbringing was one filled with tutors during the school year, and surrounded by many board members during the holidays.
Learning and watching their every move and decisions, understanding business patterns and strategies needed to pull through in critical situations.
This process helped him sharpen his mind and broadened his views, expanding his thoughts, belief system, and shaped his principles.
As a kid, he was groomed by the best in business matters and critical thinking, observational skills and the art of public speaking.
His mother always felt that he was been pushed too early in life but truth be told, he was born a Knox through and through, because he immensely enjoyed every session, and every minute of it. Which was why he was able to fully assume the duties of the CEO at twenty when his dad had a heart attack and was advised by his medical team to stay away from work, and any other strenuous activity.
Obviously his dad being as stubborn as an ox wasn’t listening to that advice, because he called to check in on almost everything with the exception of his love life which is his mom’s jurisdiction.
She really had everything to worry about as he was not about to settle down anytime soon, as he had told her numerous times, but it hadn’t stopped her from trying out her match making schemes every time she got a chance.
Just like Franca was one of her many schemes that had failed terribly.
That information was something he had held off from telling his mother for a while now, because of the series of lectures that were sure to follow. These lectures always rehashed the importance of an heir and a family in his life, for stability and progeny but as it stood, he would have to inform her to back off, and also warn her to tell her spawns to stop trying to reach him.
The lecture he was willing to endure, because seeing Franca again would only dredge up the image of her moaning and panting heavily on his bed, as a black dude he had never seen before had his head buried between her sun kissed tights.
He had chased them both out of his house without committing murder, which a miracle, but the image had been burned into his memory with such clarity that the headache which had sent him home earlier than expected had disappeared into thin air, filling his heart with another kind of pain.
The bed has since been discarded, and a new one brought in by the company.
He shook his head at the memory, shuddering at the very sight that had plagued him for months. Williams thought to himself, “how many more of these treatments was he willing to endure before he actually snapped and did something stupid?.
It had always been much easier to handle the pain because the ladies truly didn’t mean much to him, but was dating them out of courtesy to his very persistent mom. Regardless it still hurt when they went ahead to do nasty things behind his back or stay attached to him because of the money, except Lisa.
The thought of her filled his heart with a gentle warmth that had been there since the first day she started working here as his secretary.
At first, he thought she was like the others, getting the job in hopes of finding the perfect opportunity to seduce him, and entice him into happily ever after, but not her.
Lisa just loved her job, and has since, done everything needed to prove that.
He laughed softly as the image of her fair cheeks filled up with pink color, which gave her light skin a glow when she realized he had caught her staring at him again.
It feeling never got old, and he always looked forward to those little moments when she let her guard down, enough for him to see through the cracks that she actually was a woman with wants and desires.
She tried so hard to mask it, but he knew deep within, her thoughts were consumed by him as hers consumed his.
She was always flustered and jumpy whenever he was around her, and even after such a long time working together she still blushed whenever he looked at her appreciatively.
She was one of a kind, and although he didn’t know the whole story, he knew something bad and painful had happened to her before she started working for him. She was an embodiment of strength, because she had somehow found her peace working here in the midst of an amazing family that treated her as one of their own, and that was enough for her.
He noticed earlier on, how excited and happy she was around the kids of some of the other employees, she would literally dote on them to the fullest, and spoiled them in many different ways.
There was an aura she had whenever she was around children that made his heart swell with emotions he couldn’t name, but it felt good.
It was without doubt she would be a good mother to her children.
It also came as a shock to him when he found out she was dating someone; that automatically made him put a stop to whatever feeling was quietly growing inside him, and simply enjoyed her presence.
There was so many things to deal with at the same time, and if he even tried to figure it out, would be engineer the start of a pounding in his head that wouldn’t go away easily.
Sighing, he walked to window overlooking the crowded and bustling city of Lagos, filled with millions of people hurrying to their various destinations.
Realizing he had a lot of work to do, he walked back to his seat, powered up his mac-book, and dove head first into the business for the day.
Williams glanced at the workload left unattended, and knew it was going to be a hell of a day for him.
