The apartment felt cold after Andrei left. It wasn't because it was devoid of his presence, Daniella told herself, but rather because he'd left under poor circumstances. As she'd said to Andrei over text, hindsight was a b***h. When she'd heard his car start outside the apartment block, she'd come close to calling him and asking him to come back. But she let him go.
