Bouquets and Boardrooms

" I do" , with tears streaming down her face, Winter declares her love for Roman at the altar. "kiss! " Kiss!!" screamed Olivia, Roman's sister. She has been a huge support from day one and is finally glad to see her brother getting married to the love of his life." As Roman and Winter exchanged their vows, the hall erupted with applause and screams, while the couple walked back to the car with smiles on their faces. "This is the best day of my life" declared Roman, while winter nods her head " me too". "Let's go" , the driver started the car and the couple moved to their mansion. Winter couldn't believe she was married to the love of her life and it all started with one late appointment. CHAPTER ONE "It's been a long day at work, and I can't wait to get back home," thought Winters. The store had been extremely busy today. It was the last month of the year and also the busiest, as many couples wanted to get married before the year came to an end. It had been a hectic week, and she planned to sleep through the night and ignore all calls, as she had no one to call except her secretary. She had already told her clients to contact her secretary after one of them called her in the middle of the night, crying that her fiancé was cheating. She didn't want calls like that anymore. She parked her car in the apartment's parking space. "Hi, Jeryl," she greeted the security guard. Jeryl worked night shifts at the H&H Apartments and resumed duty at 8 p.m. He had been getting to the apartment before her lately because of her busy schedule. She walked towards the elevator and clicked on the 8th floor, it was days like this that she wished she were on the 2nd or 3rd floor, her patience was running thin and she just wanted to get to her apartment shower, and sleep. She had told herself to work on her eating habits but that will be next year since the year has run out and she doesn't even have the time to fix it. Immediately the elevator opened, she sighed in relief she opened her door with the code she had been using for years, her mother's birth date. She removed all her clothing and dropped her bag on the couch. She took a quick bath in the bathroom, picking up her phone she set her alarm for 6:00 am so as not to miss her first appointment by 8:00 am, and went to bed. The following morning, her alarm woke her up, "ugh" she thought "another day, another stress". She stood up from her bed and read her daily affirmations then she moved to the bathroom and had her bath, then she went to the kitchen to have her breakfast, she would love to have scrambled eggs but on opening her fridge, the only thing she found was a half-eaten ice cream tub, accepting her fate she picked it and started eating. She went to her closet and picked a pair of navy blue pants with a silk sweatshirt and a beautiful scarf to wrap around her neck. She had her heels set aside she picked her bag from the couch and her coat from where she hung it "She could never get used to the cold" she thought. On getting to work, her secretary Jamie told her she had four clients for the day. " Hey, Winter, I suggest you start your work now" Jamie had always pitied her boss, she had no love life and was willing to go all the way for other couples. With a sigh, Winter entered her office and her work began. A lot went into wedding planning, her time,energy, and money although she is earning from the sales of bouquets and bridal gowns, things were expensive in New York and she always had to spend more. Reminding herself that she is working for other people's big day she continued her work. It was a very hectic day and her last appointment was at a restaurant, the client is paying well and since the restaurant isn't far from her apartment she had agreed to meet up at the restaurant she had no idea the type of couple she is working with but she had a phone call earlier in the day to meet with the bride at 5:00 pm at a restaurant, the bride name is Olivia and Winter had noticed that she was also soft spoken. After her third appointment which was the last one at the office she took her phone to check the time and cursed when she saw that the time was 4:55 pm she had about 20 minutes to get to the restaurant if the traffic isn't too bad she became worried about leaving a bad impression, she packed her bags and left in a rush waving a quick bye to Jamie and the rest of her staffs she set off to the restaurant. The restaurant was a fine dining restaurant and she was assured she would be able to order a beautiful meal to eat and also to apologize for coming late. Parking her car she checked the time and saw that she was twenty minutes late. She panicked and walked up to the first waiter "Hello, where is the table booked under miss Autumn, the waiter directed her to the front desk who took her to the table and informed her that her guests were around. On getting to the table she saw a woman and two men, she had never thought she would plan a wedding among three people as couples, and she couldn't help but hide her shock, she was conservative although she knew people in New York did this but never planned on doing one, getting to the table she started apologizing profusely" hi i’m so sorry, i was caught up with my last appointment at the office" she said, the bride had greeted her with a very warm smile " oh no dont worry we haven't been here for long she faced the grooms they were handsome men she could see now why the bride is getting married to both of them. Then the bride spoke up '" this is my fiancé, Landon and he is my brother ' winter turned to look at Olivia's fiancé , he was a very handsome man with ginger hair and a warm smile all dressed up in a suit she assumed he was coming from work " so sorry to keep you waiting" he had only smiled warmly , facing the bride brother , he sat down with a frown on his face and he hadn't bothered to speak or acknowledge her arrival she had assumed he was pissed although he looked so good with his jet black hair and his light green eyes she had controlled herself to stop checking him out .´i’m so sorry for taking your time," he only replied with a hum and so she sat down. She noticed they had ordered a plate for her and she muttered a thank you, not knowing why she felt intimidated, maybe because the bride's brother had been staring at her since she sat down. She decided to ignore it and they started eating. 'After their meal, the discussion is to start, "let's get into the planning", she said ,olivia nodded her head in excitement and she gave a small smile in return.
