Chapter 5: Mates

Alexandra woke from her slumber. She had been running for twelve days like a rogue wolf. She learned how to cover her scent because of her father's training. She was a princess after all and couldn't let the enemy Lycans take her away. She managed to escape the Lycan attack through the tunnel systems her father had built centuries ago. Some tunnels were old, others new. When her pack came under attack by the Lycan armies, her father told her to take the new escape tunnel system and run. Her beta was killed on the fourth day by a Lycan bite securing her escape on a boat after managing to escape the tunnel system. Alexandra mourned her beta. He had been with her since childbirth. Gustav died being a loyal beta to the crown. She was alone now.

"Find Blackblood pack! Let Alpha Black know I request your protection! GO DAUGHTER!" Alpha King Alfred commanded.

After leaving the boat, Alexandra found the route Gustav told her to take. When she came upon the lake, it was so peaceful... she drank water and couldn't stop the tears from falling..crying herself sleep. She knew she was in Blackblood pack territory now. She was safe.

My reflexes told me to scream the moment I felt touched. The moment I opened my eyes I screamed louder. The immense black wolf hoovered over me, saliva flowing down its snout. 

"GET AWAY!" I pushed my hands against it with all my strength. The wolf sat back....was it laughing?

"DON'T HURT ME! I'M STRONG AND CAN KILL YOU!" I say bravely. I'm bluffing. I lick my lips nervously, hoping the wolf doesn't run after me.

"LITTLE one, this wolf doesn't eat silver hair maidens," Cobalt laughs harder...Kali laughs along with him. Our mate thinks she can kill us! Pff!

Alexandra got angrier the more the wolf laughed at her. She decided to throw a rock laying near the edge of the lake at it.

The wolf whimpered. It glared its teeth, baring it's pearly whites. "DON'T! DO...THAT...AGAIN!" 

Alexandra nodded. She sat back against the grass trying to calm her breathing. If the wolf wanted to eat or kill her by now it would've done so. She closed her eyes and concentrated on calming her nerves before she fainted. She almost fainted when she opened her eyes the first time. This second time, opening her eyes slowly she notice a kindness sparkle in the wolf eyes.

"Who are you?" Alexandra whispers...

"I am Cobalt wolf of Alpha Kali Black of the Blackblood pack. Who are you and why are you in our training grounds?" Cobalt questions,

"Ale..Alexandra is my name. My father is Alpha King Alfred, of the Eastern territories. I need your protection, our pack came under attack by a large Lycan army." 

Cobalt howled...licking Alexandra's hands and nuzzling her shoulder. 

"You are safe, Alexandra." Alexandra smiled for the first time, her smile was big and radiant. Cobalt sniffed her neck and licked it, unable to hold back any longer. Alexandra drew in a breathe, running her fingers through Cobalt's fur. Cobalt moaned in pleasure, his mate was everything he could've dreamed of. She was soft, extraordinarily beautiful, and smelled delicious. So sweet...

"Alexandra..." Kali sighs...

"Yes...yes Alpha..." staring at him with hooded eyes.

"You are MINE! My MATE"
