Confession
/-Skylar-/
Alpha Adonis Jonas
I’ve never ached for anyone the way I ached for him. No man ever made my pulse race like he did.
No touch ever haunted my skin like the one I imagined from him.
I wanted him ruthless.
Wanted him to slam me against the wall,
Hike my skirt up,
And ruin me until I forgot my own name.
I wanted his jealousy to burn…
To match the wildfire that scorched me
Every time I saw him with someone else.
Every time I had to pretend he wasn’t mine.
Every time another woman touched what I couldn't claim.
My desire for him wasn’t love.
It was a sickness.
A slow, sweet poison in my veins,
Corrupting every sane thought
Until all that remained
Was him.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The stunning girl with gorgeous emerald eyes stared back at me.
“Oh my God, Skylar! You look f*****g amazing!” Mel squealed beside me. I turned timidly to her.
“You think so?”
“Of course darling. Sixteen looks glorious on you!” Mel said. “I mean, have you seen you? You are literally going to sweep all the boys off their feet!”
Boys?
I wasn't after boys. There was only one man I wanted to sweep off his feet. The very man that was forbidden for me to even look at.
My father's devilishly gorgeous step-brother. Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack.
Mel had a knowing look on her face. She was the only one who knew of my crush on my step-uncle. And yes, she was totally against the idea.
“Are you sure you want to do that?” She asked me.
I picked the flower bouquet and confession note on the desk. I tugged it in carefully before facing her with a smile.
“I am very sure of it. I love him, Mel. So much that it feels like he's the very air I breathe,” I told her.
She still had this worried expression on her face. One that clearly screamed of disapproval as well.
“I still don't think this is love, Sky. You probably feel attached to him because he has been there for you and your mother since your father died three years ago. You are still young, Sky. You don't need a man twice your age…”
“Mel…”
“Give it two years,” she cut me short. “You'll turn eighteen, find your mate and everything else would be in the past! You're an Alpha princess, Sky. Many wolves will be dying to have you!”
“I know what I want, Mel and I'm going to get it!”
Realising there was nothing that could change my mind, we walked out the room. All eyes flickered to me as I descended the stairs and then I felt him.
An intense gaze piercing through my skin. I glanced around, hoping to find him in the crowd but I couldn't. Yet I felt him. His cold commanding presence.
“Sweetheart, you look amazing!” My mother, Luna Karissa exclaimed. I easily smiled at her, returning her kisses. “Happy sixteenth birthday, sweetheart.”
“Where is he?” I asked, the moment we pulled away from each other.
“Who?”
“The Alpha.”
“Oh, he's out in the back, I think. He wanted to handle something really quick,” she responded.
“I'll go look for him,” I told her and she narrowed her eyes at me.
“I know you two are close but don't use him as an excuse to run away from your guests,” my mother scolded lightly.
I simply laughed and walked away. Mel followed closely as we went out the back door and stepped into the balcony.
My entire being stiffened as I watched the sight before me. My heart shattered to a million pieces and the tears began to form rapidly.
He was doing it again. Kissing another random woman. On my birthday! My grip on the bouquet tightened as I burned with jealousy.
“Sky, let's just go. He's busy,” Mel whispered but I ignored her and stepped forward.
“Alpha,” I called and they pulled away from each other. Those mesmerizing seafoam eyes rested on me. He dismissed the woman immediately and walked to me.
“Hey there, my little fairy,” he stopped in front of me and pinched my nose teasingly. I pushed his hand away.
He was treating me like a kid again and I hated it.
“What's wrong? You seem upset,” his eyes softened with worry as he looked at me. I glanced at Mel who immediately turned away and exited the balcony.
“Who was she?” I couldn't contain my jealousy any further. “The lady you were kissing.”
“Oh, that,” he chuckled. “Aren't you nosy, little one?”
“Stop. Calling. Me. That.” I seethed. “I'm sixteen! I'm practically an adult.”
Amusement flickered in his eyes.
“Of course,” he snorted. “That was Sarah, a friend of mine.”
My chest tightened. “Your mate?”
“No, she's just someone I like to share a bed with. She makes me feel good,” he answered, then cursed. “f**k, your mother's going to kill me if she heard me tell you that.”
“You don't need her,” I blurted, feeling my cheeks heat up. “Sarah, I mean. I… I can make you feel good too.”
For a second, he was silent, then he chuckled. My heart was drumming fast against my chest as I gathered courage to step closer, then realized he was way too tall. I couldn't reach him even if I stood on my tiptoes.
“Lean closer, Uncle,” I gestured and he lowered his face, possibly thinking I had something to tell him but then I kissed him. On the lips. Deeply.
My entire being sprang to life and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. He tasted like cherries. Just as sweet as I imagined.
He pulled away immediately, shock clearly written all over his features. My anxiety level spiked up.
“What the f**k?” He cursed, wiping his lip immediately. The action stung me deeply. Did he really feel nothing for me? “What were you thinking, Skylar?” He scolded and I flinched, tears gathering in my eyes.
“Do you really not see it?”
“See what?” He asked in confusion. “Did you have something to drink?”
“I didn't drink anything! I'M f*****g IN LOVE WITH YOU. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?!” I yelled, throwing the bouquet at him. It crashed on the ground, shattering as all the roses came loose.
He stood there, shocked and speechless. Then slowly picked up the note containing my love confession.
After reading, his eyes flickered to my teary face. I waited for him to say something.
To tell me he felt the same.
He didn't. Instead, he ripped the note to shreds, his once warm eyes, turning ice cold.
“I'll forget this ever happened so don't let it repeat itself. Clean up this mess when you're done.”
With that, he walked past me.
