The Alpha’s voice sounded dark and dangerous.
The attacker gave a faint smile, but before anyone could do anything, Gretel spoke.
“This all seems far too convenient.”
Everyone looked at her as Gretel slowly crossed her arms.
“She walks out right before the trial… everything turns into chaos… and now she suddenly appears with him.”
Amaris opened her eyes in disbelief.
“That’s not true!”
Her voice was filled with both anger and desperation.
“What she’s saying is a lie!”
Kael never took his eyes off the attacker.
“I’ll give you one chance.”
His voice was monstrously calm.
“Let her go.”
The attacker let out a mocking laugh.
“And why would I do that?”
Then he looked at Amaris with pure malice.
“You have no idea how much I enjoyed her a moment ago.”
A terrifying silence fell over the place. Amaris’s eyes widened in horror.
“That’s a lie!” Amaris screamed.
But it was already too late.
Kael completely lost control.
In the blink of an eye, his body violently transformed into a massive black wolf.
The warriors immediately stepped back.
The roar was brutal, and Kael launched himself directly at the attacker.
Amaris fell to the ground as both of them collided violently.
The attacker transformed as well to defend himself.
Growls shook the entire Crimson Moon territory, but the difference in power was far too obvious.
Kael brutally slammed him against the ground. The attacker struggled to break free, but he couldn’t.
The enormous black wolf bared his fangs, completely out of control.
Then, only seconds later, Kael shifted back into his human form.
His eyes glowed with fury.
“I will not show you mercy again.”
The attacker barely had time to react.
Because Kael brutally drove his claws into his chest.
The scream echoed throughout all of Crimson Moon, and seconds later… Kael ripped out his heart.
Blood splattered across the ground as the body fell motionless.
Everyone stood frozen beneath a silence that reminded them exactly who the Alpha truly was.
Kael’s breathing was rough. Then he slowly turned his gaze toward everyone present.
And finally, he spoke in a terrifyingly cold voice.
“Anyone who dares to act against my pack… will not get a second chance.”
But while he said those words… his eyes remained fixed on Amaris.
Kael stared at the attacker’s lifeless body on the ground for a few more seconds.
Blood continued spreading slowly across the stone floor while the members of Crimson Moon remained completely silent.
The atmosphere was dangerous.
Kael slowly wiped the blood from his hand before speaking without taking his eyes off the corpse.
“Clean up this mess.”
His voice came out cold and terrifyingly calm.
Two warriors immediately reacted and began dragging the attacker’s body away.
No one dared say a single word.
Then Kael turned toward Amaris.
She still stood frozen, breathing unevenly after everything that had happened.
Without saying anything, Kael grabbed her hand firmly and began walking toward the inside of the mansion.
Amaris struggled to keep up with him while feeling everyone’s eyes on her, especially Gretel’s.
When they reached the study, Kael shoved the door open and made her walk in first.
The door slammed shut behind them.
And then he immediately released her hand.
The change was instant.
Every trace of the protection he had shown outside disappeared.
Kael slowly turned toward her.
“Tell me who that man was.”
Amaris’s eyes widened slightly.
“I don’t know.”
Kael let out an ironic laugh.
“Don’t lie to me again.”
Amaris shook her head quickly.
“It’s the truth. I had never seen him before.”
Kael began pacing slowly through the study.
“Too many coincidences, Amaris.”
She felt a knot tighten in her chest. He was accusing her without saying it directly.
“I had nothing to do with this, I swear.”
Kael suddenly stopped in front of her.
Her words sounded convincing, but after what had happened with Belilah, he no longer trusted any woman.
“Of course you did. Everything points to you. It’s strange that all of this started after you arrived in this pack.”
Amaris clenched her hands nervously.
“I would never conspire against you!”
Kael tilted his head slightly.
“And why not? What’s stopping you?” he asked with cold disbelief.
The question left her speechless for a moment before she answered almost immediately.
“Because I’m your wife.”
Kael didn’t react, and Amaris used that silence to take a step closer to him.
“I owe you loyalty. I’m your wife.”
Those words seemed to do something inside him.
For a moment, Kael fell completely silent.
But then another memory surfaced in his mind.
Belilah.
The way she had also spoken about loyalty before destroying him.
Fury immediately tore through his body.
His eyes darkened with rage. That memory burned him from the inside out.
“You’d better never even think about betraying me.”
Kael’s voice sounded far more dangerous than before.
Amaris felt a chill run through her entire body.
Kael slowly stepped closer until he was standing directly in front of her.
“Because if I ever discover that you played games with this pack…” His voice lowered dangerously. “I would destroy you and your entire family in the blink of an eye.”
Amaris stopped breathing for a moment.
There was no doubt in his words.
Kael was completely serious.
The silence inside the study became unbearable.
But Kael said nothing else.
He simply stepped away from her and walked out of the study without waiting for any response.
The door slammed shut behind him, leaving Amaris alone with her heart pounding violently inside her chest.
However, only a few seconds later, the door opened again, and a sweet, mocking voice filled the room.
“Kael may defend you, but I’m sure he doesn’t believe you,” Gretel said with her arms crossed.
Amaris looked at her silently for a few seconds.
Then she slowly walked toward her.
