Chapter 15

1189 Words
We finished eating and Brandon ordered us a slice of cheese cake to share. I wasn’t sure how he knew it was my favorite, but he was getting brownie points for that move.  After dinner, he took me for a walk behind the restaurant. Turns out the owner of the restaurant had a vineyard behind the restaurant. He had set up a small table for wine tasting. After trying a few different wines, we settled on a bottle and the person helping us left us alone under the stars.  Brandon took my hand and the bottle of wine and I grabbed two glasses. We walked down a hill and to a blanket laid out on the grass.  We sat down and he poured us some wine. There were so many things I wanted to ask him about but I didn’t feel like it was something we should talk about on a date.  “The stars are beautiful.” I said, lying back on the blanket. “You are beautiful,” he said. His eyes never leave me.  “It’s the mate bond,” I replied.  “No, you are gorgeous. I’m used to being the better-looking one in a relationship. I’m not saying this to try and sound arrogant, but it's the truth. And then you came into my world and, let’s be honest, you are the better looking one.”  “Are we in a relationship?” I asked, rolling to my side to look at him.  His cheeks turn a light pink, which I love. I watched as he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down.  “I was hoping we could at least try. I know you said after I found out the truth, but I don’t think I can stay away.”  I understood that feeling. I wanted him so much. Maybe that was it, he just wanted to sleep with me. That would make sense why he couldn’t stay away from me. “Have you been with anybody since you found me?” I asked him.  “No. You are always on my mind. You are all I want. Have you?” His eyes turned black before flickering back to his beautiful hazel color.  “No. I tried to get this sexy man to sleep with me on my birthday but he turned me down.”  “He was a fool.” He said, chuckling before placing a soft kiss on my lips. He tried to pull away but I didn’t have it.  I pulled him hard down on me and deepened our kiss. He maneuvered himself so he was nestled between my legs as he kept kissing me. My wolf was pushing to the surface and the animal in me was battling to take over.  My hand found his belt and I started to unbuckle him when his hand caught my wrist and stopped me. He pulled away from our kiss and sat back off of me.  My heart and pride hurt. This was the second time he stopped us and I couldn’t help but think he didn’t want me.  “We should probably get back. It’s getting late.” He said before trying to kiss me again but I turned my head and his lips hit my cheek. This situation was already complicated and I refused to let him mess with my head.  He says he wants me but he keeps pulling away. Maybe he is confused about the mate bond. He thinks he wants me but he doesn’t really want me.  “What’s wrong?”  “Nothing.” I said, standing up and dusting off my dress. “We should go.”  “Katrina?”  I didn’t bother to listen. I started walking up the hill and back in the direction we came. I didn’t stop till I was standing by his car. He reached for the handle but, to my surprise, he pushed me against his car and kissed me hard.  “Katrina, I want you more than you can imagine, but I refuse to let our first time be on the ground in the middle of nowhere. You mean so much to me that I want our first time to be special.”  “Sure.” I said, my feeling still hurt, but I stared right into his eyes. He grabbed my hand and pressed it to his large, hard member.  “Do you see what you did to me? I walk around like this every time I am near you, but I want us on a deeper level. Please know it’s not because I don’t want you, because I do. I want you so badly it hurts.”  Feeling how hard he was only turned me on more, but he was right and I wanted more for us too. If that was even possible.  “Ok. I guess you might have a small point.”  “Small?” He said, raising his eyebrows. “I don’t think I’m small at all. In fact, I would say I’m above average.”  “I wouldn’t know you keep holding out,” I said with a smirk.  He threw his head back and laughed.  “Oh my little Tigress, I will give it to you soon enough.” He said, kissing me again before opening my door.  The drive back was comfortable and he held my hand the entire time. Occasionally, kissing my hand and my wrist. I loved every second of it.  When we got back to the packhouse he walked me to the door.  “What the Hell is going on here?” Boomed my father's deep voice.  My dad was a laid back guy but he was scary when he was mad and the tone in his voice right now told me he was pissed.  “Daddy.”  “Do not Daddy me Katrina. What are you doing with him?”  I could tell Brandon was about to say something but I put my hand on his arm and shook my head no. This was my father and I didn’t need him to stick up for me.  “Dad, we went to dinner.”  “Why? After everything, why?”  He of all people should understand the mate bond and the pull that is beyond our control. I had fought it for a year and I was tired of fighting. I wanted to feel the love that everybody else got to have.  “Carl. It’s late and this conversation would be better to have after everybody has had a chance to get some sleep.” Alpha Bryan said, stepping out of the front door.  “Fine but this isn’t over.” My Dad said, crossing his arms.  “Of course,” Alpha Bryan replied. “Brandon, it’s a long drive back to your hotel. I will have a room made up for you.”  “Separate from my daughter.” My Dad said, still sounding pissed off. “I will put him on the Alpha floor with me. Luna has been having a hard time sleeping, so he won’t be able to sneak past us.”
