CHAPTER 4-THE TRAITOR

844 Words
He asked Chōbun who did this but Chōbun didn’t want to tell him because he was afraid that Kōgo would go for revenge. Then Kōgo tries to get Chōbun to see a physician but Chōbun doesn’t allow him. Before Chōbun died, he told Kōgo; he put a letter inside Kōgo luggage as Kōgo hadn't checked yet what was inside his luggage. He must take a look, Chōbun said as Chōbun can’t talk any further as he is dying inside right now. Chōbun's last words only told Kōgo not to avenge him. After that, Chōbun closes his eyes and dies. Kōgo was crying sadly as Chōbun not only was his Shishō but he also treated Chōbun like his own parent as well. Now with Chōbun gone, Kōgo became an orphan again. He has nobody anymore around him. That is the condition that he never wanted to feel it again. He has experienced the loss of a loved one before, now he doesn’t want to feel it anymore. However, he can’t stop the reality as his Shishō (also his foster father) is already gone. After burying his Shishō, Kōgo swore in front of his tomb, no matter what he will avenge for him. One-by-one of his murderers will end in his hands. Kōgo remembered some when Chōbun ever told him about his past that he was a sect disciple of Unkensō. However, it was a very long time ago before the sect came to an end by those evil people. And he even mentioned Ryohyō who had been expelled by the sect leader because of his mistake to steal a thing that did not belong to him. Certainly, Chōbun did tell Kōgo about his past but not everything (including the book). From there, Kōgo somehow suspected that Chōbun’s death might be related to Ryohyō and he didn't do it alone as the result of some other corpses that were found on the scene. So he will start to investigate this man since Ryohyō was quite famous right now so it was not hard to find. But the current Ryohyō was not the same as he used to be. He once was an unknown person but the one now was a sect leader with formidable martial arts. The rumors said, after annihilating Unkensō, not long after he became a brand new him. Some said he was working hard to practice martial arts until he is right now but some said that he learned some secret martial arts from a forbidden book. That’s why he’s unbeatable. He is not only a sect leader now, but also the founder of his sect. However, this sect was not an upright sect. Eventually, an evil sect called “Tōkon-Mon / Dòuhún-Mén (FightingSpirit-Sect)”. Some other evil sects that existed before, all have been eliminated by him. However, rather said that had been eliminated, more precisely was conquered by him. The remaining of the disciples from those evil sects have been recruited under his sect. So, in just a few years, Tōkon-Mon already grew much bigger and stronger than ever. In formality, Tōkon-Mon was an upright sect but some people knew it was just a lie. But since his sect was already big and famous, some other upright sects never dare to confront him. No matter what, those upright sects were blind from beginning to provoked by someone like Ryohyō to help him to annihilate Unkensō. Now some of them are regretful but there is nothing that they can do. They wish they could turn back time so they won’t be provoked by that evil person. Maybe they can only rely on one man that can maybe bring justice for Unkensō, one day. And that person is Kōgo. Now Kōgo has read the letter that left from his Shishō, Chōbun. Turns out, he also found out that the original Mugen-Keisho was buried beneath underground together with Seimei-Sōshu’s bodies by Chōbun. Not only that, the martial arts sword skills that he learned from Chōbun also came from the book. Eventually, Chōbun secretly learned all the martial arts inside the original book that was left by his Shishō but he didn’t Shishō it all. Inside the book not only mentioned powerful sword techniques but some martial arts tips about how to increase inner-energy rapidly which is usually called “Shinki / Zhēn-Qì (Qi-Energy)”. That’s why all the people from the pugilistic world want to own it. However, no one knows why only Ryohyō learned it and his accomplices who were involved in destroying Unkensō didn't learn anything. There must be some reason for that, which only they and Ryohyō knew. Now as Kōgo suspected before, he was right that one of the murderers was Ryohyō. Since Kōgo found out one of the wounds at Chōbun's body was wounded by sword skill which is the same skill that he learned from Chōbun and also came from that book even Chōbun actually just taught him a little. So definitely, one of them is Ryohyō.
