CHAPTER 15-THE MINISTER’S BODYGUARDS

Then a bunch of people rushed toward him as they wanted to eliminate Hitokiri-Kenshi right away. The battle between him and those people can’t be avoided. It was so easy for him to take all of them down without too much effort as he still didn’t use the Mukeifūken-ryū yet. After defeating some of the Chinhō servants, finally the target appeared. It’s Chinhō but he’s not alone. He was accompanied by 4 of his bodyguards. Don’t underestimate these 4 bodyguards as they were quite famous martial-arts pugilists in the pugilist world that were hired by Chinhō. As mentioned before, Chinhō was not a martial-artist prodigy and he realized that either, so that’s why he hired some pugilist bodyguards to protect him. All of them have different martial-arts skills such as the first one was a retired monk using rod-wood as a weapon, the second one using a blade, the third one using two daggers, and the last one using a broadsword (it’s kind of like a big heavy saber).

Chinhō: “How dare you invade my residence… Who are you exactly??”

Hitokiri-Kenshi: “Hitokiri-Kenshi, someone wants your head for display…”

Chinhō was quite surprised when he heard the name Hitokiri-Kenshi.

Chinhō: “Hitokiri-Kenshi, you said??? So you’re the people talked about, that legendary mercenary assassin… How much did they pay you?? I can double it or even triple it, just name it…”

Hitokiri-Kenshi: “I don’t talk to my prey with word, but with sword…”

Chinhō: “Too bad. I thought we could do some business here. Well, if you want my head, come and get it…!!! But if you can pass my 4 bodyguards first… Bwahahaha…”

Chinhō was not afraid at all as he was so confident with the help of his four bodyguards, even if the legendary Hitokiri-Kenshi were here to kill him, but alone, it’s impossible. Now Chinhō sits back and relaxes while drinking his tea and watching his bodyguards battle against one Hitokiri-Kenshi. He wants to know how strong Hitokiri-Kenshi is so people called him legendary. For Hitokiri-Kenshi as well, he doesn’t own that legendary by nothing. After a hard journey, he finally reached his current reputation. That’s why people in the pugilist world called him the legendary Hitokiri-Kenshi. The first one to attack him was the retired monk using the rod-wood. He once was a monk from Shōrin. But because of an incident, he was forced to leave Shōrin and now he has become one of the Chinhō bodyguards. His name is “Genmu (Xuán-Wú)”. Genmu strikes first as he rushes toward Hitokiri-Kenshi with qi-energy jumps, just 2 steps, he already gets close enough to Hitokiri-Kenshi with an inch away. Then Genmu smacks Hitokiri-Kenshi with Qi-energy on his rod. Certainly, Hitokiri-Kenshi already blocked it with his sword that was still hanging inside his scabbard. A pressure explosion occurred around them. However, Genmu inner Qi-energy was very strong so that smack even did not hit directly on Hitokiri-Kenshi but still that caused Hitokiri-Kenshi one leg to bend over. Then he quickly pushes Genmu’s rod away with his Qi-energy by making a backward spin at the same time, to keep his distance with Genmu. So without waiting for Genmu to strike him again, this time he has to strike back to maintain his fighting morale. With thrusting towards Genmu after pulling out his sword, he tries to stab Genmu but Genmu can see it coming so he is not that stupid to let himself be wounded by Hitokiri-Kenshi. Genmu quickly spins aside to evade the strikes from Hitokiri-Kenshi. Just after Hitokiri-Kenshi passed over him, Genmu tried to sneak attack on Hitokiri-Kenshi by smack with his rod on the back of Hitokiri-Kenshi. However, Hitokiri-Kenshi saw it coming either, he quickly bent lower his upper body to evade the attack from Genmu by sliding backward while slicing his sword on Genmu’s right thigh. Of course, Genmu quickly spins aside again to pull a distance between him and Hitokiri-Kenshi. Then with sneak attack again, he quickly attack on Hitokiri-Kenshi with thrusting toward as he thinks that Hitokiri-Kenshi might not yet back on his stance. But of course, Hitokiri-Kenshi see it as well as he immediately block it with his sword. However, Genmu inner Qi-energy was so powerful, so it caused Hitokiri-Kenshi to step backward. Not yet done, Genmu attacks again with spinning his rod then smacks at Hitokiri-Kenshi from above. Once again, Hitokiri-Kenshi can only withstand the attack by holding his sword with 2 hands. But just like before, the Qi-energy that came from Genmu was still so powerful, Hitokiri-Kenshi was pushed to kneel down with one of his legs and even cause the explosion and ground cracking around them. Still not yet finish, Genmu attacks again by spins his rod with the other side facing on Hitokiri-Kenshi’s sword then with an uppercut attack, Genmu makes Hitokiri-Kenshi defense became vulnerable right now and with final attack, he thrust his rod toward Hitokiri-Kenshi chest that cause him flying backward quite far but he still can managed back on his kneel as he stabs his sword on the ground to prevent him for dragging far away from his early position. However, it still caused Hitokiri-Kenshi to vomit quite a lot of the blood from his mouth.
