First Kiss

1058 Words
The loud music and the vibrations of the club rattled Bella. Melvin felt like a babysitter the deeper into the club. Still, he held on to her, trying to manage his attention between her and Collen. Thankfully, it wasn’t hard to find either of the blondes. It seemed like a thousand-year journey when they finally reached the bar. Melvin and Bella took a deep breath at the same time, looked at each other, and laughed. For the first time that night, he saw her relax. “What would you like to drink?” “......a mojito.” “Alright. A mojito for the lady and plain tequila for me please.” “Coming right up!” Collen’s grinning face entered their periphery. Bella didn’t know how he got behind the bar but Melvin was more than familiar with his antics. Collen’s hands moved quickly like a magician, enthralling Bella and everyone around. His skills were always impressive to behold. He slid the drinks to the two and spread his hands, whispering ‘enjoy’. The two men stared at her like they were waiting for her to take a sip. Not wanting to disappoint, she took a sip and winced. The two smiled and looked away, Melvin downing the shot glass immediately. He slid the glass to Collen for more. Collen grinned and filled the glass immediately. “So, Bella, how do you like my club?” “It’s……nice.” “Be honest.” “Kinda loud, stuffy……But I like the decor.” Collen laughed out loud and continued asking questions while Melvin fiddled with his drink. He watched as her walls came down and the way a smile slowly stretched its way across her face while she talked to Collen. He liked the way her smile brightened her face but he wasn’t the one making her smile. “Don’t you have other things to do, Collen?” “Oh my~~Yes, I do. The booth is ready by the way.” “Thank you. Shall we be on our way, Bella?” “Eh? Oh, yes…..” she took his hand once more and followed him up a flight of stairs to a more private area where the music was no more than a faint thumping of beats. They could hear their steps and for Melvin, he could hear her breath become heavier. It was almost like he was leading her to her death. He chuckled and continued walking. They soon came into the sights of one of the bartenders who led them to their booth without a word. Once they were there, curiosity took over Bella as she observed their surroundings. “Hungry?” She shook her head but was quickly betrayed by her rumbling stomach. Melvin chuckled as she tried to explain. He ordered for them both while she tried to hide her shame. “Bella, there’s no need to be so scared of me. I mean, am I scary?” Bella took another look at him. The 6’2 built olive-skinned man with the most attractive face and the sharpest jaw she had ever seen was asking if he was intimidating. It wasn’t as if she was scared of him, she was scared of who he was. He was THE Melvin Jones. “It’s probably my reputation. I’m aware I don’t have the cleanest track record but I’m not a beast who takes women without their consent. I mean, you can ask them! Wait, don’t do that. That sounded better in my head” He heard a snort and looked at her face to see her covering her mouth. “Did you just……” “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to.” “Bella, since you’ve offended me, you owe me…..a kiss.” “A kiss…..” she mumbled. Melvin felt bad and was about to say he was joking but he was surprised when her face hovered over his and her lips were on his. Despite her shy nature, she kissed like an expert. She made their tongues dance, entrapping him deeper. His hand snaked around her waist and he pulled her closer, holding her in place. “AHEM.” Melvin looked up to see Collen. He gave Bella one last peck and let her go. “You’re lucky I was the one who came in. You would’ve scarred my employee” “You’re scarring Bella. Where’s the food?” “It’s here~~” he replied in a sing-song voice, clapping. Five attendants entered with two trays each on hand. They filled the table with food and drinks, meals that Bella was sure she would never be able to afford. “Please, help yourself” Melvin gestured. “Don’t mind if I do~~” Collen hummed, sitting in front of them. “Not you, Collen” Melvin groaned but was promptly ignored by the club owner. Eventually, the three got to eating and chatting again, this time, Melvin was involved in the conversation. They didn’t know if it was Collen’s presence but the tension between them was largely reduced. Collen’s watch buzzed and he immediately stood up. With a small wave, he was gone, leaving the two in awkward silence. Melvin coughed awkwardly and finished his cup of water. Glancing at her, he watched her neck turn red. “Bella, are you perhaps thinking….of the kiss earlier?” “N-No! Nothing like that……um……” What had gone to sleep prematurely in his pants due to interruption came alive again seeing her pale slender neck. Unable to resist the temptation, he slid a finger along the ridge in her neck and watched as shudders overcame her body. She let out a single squeak but didn’t move away. He leaned in closer, nibbling at her ears. She flinched and moved away. “I enjoyed the kiss and want another one. May I have another one?” His voice was dangerously low and it stirred something in Bella, something she never knew was there. Meekly, she moved back, shaking like he would gobble her up. With the way he loomed over her, he just might. “Bella, look at me” his warm breath fanned her ears. She shivered but slowly, she turned her face to his. He sat there waiting, with his eyes closed. She placed a hand on either side of his face and kissed him.
