The Stage

DING! The doors of the elevator opened to reveal a smartly dressed individual. His short brown hair was slicked back tidily on his hair. The black shirt held on tightly, revealing the ridges on his body. A cup of coffee was placed on his outstretched arm and a lady beside him began reading his itinerary as he walked through the loud corridors.  Greetings followed his steps until he reached the office at the very end. There another handsome young man smiled at him and handed him a brown envelope. The man sipped his coffee and nodded at the young man, entering through the door behind him.  “Is there anything else you’d like me to add, Mr. Jones?” the woman asks.  “Hmm, yeah. Call Collen and tell him I would like a private booth today too.” “About the company this time, Mr. Jones, I would like to suggest someone. I believe I have found someone that best suits your taste” The young man offers. “Oh~? I’ll trust your judgment as always.” “Thank you, sir.” The two exit the office and make their way into their separate cubicle. As the young man is about to enter his cubicle, his hand is snatched and a single bedazzled nail pierces his skin. Without wincing, he looks back.  “What are you up to now, Jeremy?” she asks through gritted teeth.  “Regina, what type of work ethic is this?” he smiles.  “You know what I’m talking about! You're offering someone up while I…..” “Try to fool him with that extension? You’re not fooling anyone, Regina. Melvin doesn’t like you. I certainly don’t so whatever you think you’re trying to do, stop it now. You don’t want to end up like May, do you?” At the mention of that name, shivers went down Regina’s back and she let go immediately. Jeremy looked down at his hand with a frosty expression, rubbing against the bruise that had formed.  “Don’t touch me again, Regina. I will rip off your nails.” “Whatever!” she flipped him off and stalked into her cubicle. Clicking his tongue, he went into his. The day quickly went by and soon, it was time for the office to close. As the lights went off at various parts of the building, Jeremy stood in the parking lot, sporting a cigarette lazily on his lips.  He looked bored, flipping through his phone as he leaned against a black jeep. Once he heard the sounds of footsteps, he looked up from his phone and a grin slowly occupied his face. The owner of the footsteps also smiled when she saw him. She approached him slowly like a baby lamb just learning how to walk.  She almost looked like a little girl playing dress-up in her short glittery black dress that hugged every curve in her body stopping short right above her lap. The four-inch heel proved to be a little too much for her as she winced every time she took a step. She almost cried in relief as she landed in his arms.  However, her saving grace was the long curly blonde hair that extended to her lower back, her shining emerald eyes that held a treasured purity, her pale supple skin that could redden at the slightest touch, and the curves on her body that drew eyes to her as she took every step.  “This was torture” she moaned, the edges of her eyes reddened like she shed a few tears. Jeremy ran this thumb gently over her eyelids, eliciting a little hum from her. He pulled her cheek a little, showing a dimpled smile to her.  “Do I have to do this?” “Be a good little girl and we will get through this just fine. Everyone is counting on you, Bella. I’m counting on you.” “What if I have to sleep with him? I want to give my virginity to you.” “I……” “Is she the one, Jeremy?” a soothing male voice echoed through the almost bare parking lot, carrying his curiosity to the two. Bella turned like a deer caught in headlights while Jeremy showed his business smile.  “Yes, Mr. Jones. This is Bella. She is a friend of mine.” Hearing Jeremy call her his friend made Bella wince. She managed a smile as they walked up to the man to greet him. “You look nervous, Bella” his eyes bore right into her. The way her name rolled off his tongue made her feel more exposed than she already was.  “This…..is my first time doing this, Mr. Jones.” “Please, call me Melvin. Shall we?” he extended his hand. Bella glanced back briefly at Jeremy who averted his eyes the moment she looked at him. She gingerly placed her hand on his and felt his rough large hand cover hers securely. Together, they entered the silver Mayback s-class. He even opened the door for her and waited till she was inside before he talked to Jeremy.  The drive to the club was….interesting to say the least. It was Melvin constantly asking her questions and her answering them awkwardly.  “How old are you, Bella?” “I’m 23” “What do you do for a living, Bella?” “I’m an editor for S Magazine.” “Oh…..” “I’m sure you haven’t heard of it before. There is no need to feel bad.” Melvin didn’t feel bad per se but the way she looked uncomfortable made him feel like he was committing a crime. Normally, he wouldn’t mind but there was something about her that just made him hesitate from making a move.  They soon reached the club. He opened the door for her again and handed the key over to the valet. He took her hand and hooked it against the crook of his arm.  “There’s no need to be nervous. I can be your knight in shining armor tonight.” “Thank you, Mr. Jones…..I mean Melvin.” “Good. You’re learning” his warm breath tickled her ear, causing her to tilt her head away quickly. A twinkle appeared in his eyes when he saw that.  “Meeelllllvvviiinnnn darling~~” a high-pitched masculine voice echoed in the underground parking lot. In front of the red door ahead, a brightly dressed man waved at them crazily. He stopped waving and stared at Bella who was hooked in Melvis’s arm.  “Collen, too loud. You’re scaring her.” “Oh my, who’s the puppy?” a pair of mismatched eyes stared down at her. Collen was a tall slender man. He hovered over both their heads with a bright yellow suit and a green patterned scarf tucked in his collar. Perhaps the most eye-catching thing about him was the one amber, one green eye he had.  “Collen, this is Bella. Bella, this is Collen, the owner of the club.” “H-Hello Collen” she greeted, nervously extending a hand. Collen snatched it and with a grin, placed a kiss on it.  “A pleasure to meet you, Bella,” he said in the most melodic voice she ever heard. She blinked, confused until Melvin called her name.  “Oh my, she’s so cute.” “Let’s just go in” Melvin rolled his eyes.
