She was once the rejected Omega no one wanted.

Now, she's the fire that could burn down an entire pack.

After being publicly rejected and humiliated by her mate, Seraphina disappeared into the wild—only to return stronger, smarter, and deadly. But fate has a twisted sense of humor.

The one man who saves her life is none other than Alpha Zayden—the cold, ruthless Alpha King… and her ex-mate’s older brother.

When sparks ignite between them and an unexpected second mate bond awakens, Seraphina is torn between revenge and a desire she never asked for.

Zayden is dangerous. Protective. And completely obsessed with her.

But the deeper she falls, the harder it gets to tell who the real enemy is—her past mate, her heart, or the Alpha who claims to own her soul.

In a world where betrayal is survival, love is war… and one forbidden touch could destroy them all.

The Return of the Rejected
The sky cracked open with thunder as Seraphina stood at the edge of Crimson Moon’s territory. Rain poured down in heavy sheets, drenching her cloak, her boots sinking into the mud. Two years. That’s how long it had been since they’d thrown her out like garbage. Two years since Luka, her mate, looked into her eyes and rejected her without a flinch. She wasn’t the same girl anymore. The pack gate stood tall before her, guarded by two warriors she recognized from her past. They didn’t recognize her at first—not with the hood shadowing her face and her scent cloaked by herbs. But the moment she lifted her head, gasps echoed through the rain. “You—Seraphina?” one whispered, nearly stepping back. She smirked, her voice calm and dangerous. “Miss me?” The guard’s jaw clenched. “You shouldn’t be here. The Alpha ordered—” “I didn’t come to talk to Luka.” Her voice cut sharp through the storm. “I’m here to see Alpha Zayden.” The name made both guards stiffen. “Why would he want to see you?” She stepped forward slowly, each word like a blade. “Because I have something he needs. And something he’ll kill to keep away from Luka.” Without waiting for permission, she walked past them, straight into the land that had once spit her out. No one stopped her. No one dared. The Crimson Moon mansion rose like a fortress at the heart of the territory, dark stone and towering windows wrapped in shadows. Every step Seraphina took closer to the main house, more whispers followed her. “She’s back…” “Is that the Omega?” “Didn’t she—wasn’t she rejected?” Let them talk. She walked like a queen returning to her throne, not a fallen mate crawling home. She had no fear now—only purpose. And it began with Zayden. Inside the grand hall, the tension thickened. Warriors shifted uneasily. Servants stared. But no one touched her. Maybe it was the way she held her head high. Or the darkness in her eyes that warned: Try me. The doors to the Alpha’s study swung open without a knock. Zayden stood by the fireplace, a glass of whiskey in one hand, the other resting against the mantle. He turned slowly at the sound of her boots on the floor. Their eyes met. Her breath caught in her throat. He was taller than she remembered, broader, sharper. His silver eyes locked on hers like he could see through the cloak, the scars, the lies she wore like armor. “Seraphina,” he said, calm, unreadable. “You remember me,” she replied coolly. Zayden set his glass down and faced her fully. “I remember everything,” he said. “Including the night Luka rejected you.” She didn’t flinch. “Good. Then this conversation will be easy.” He watched her for a long moment. “Why are you here?” She pulled her hood back, revealing her face—still beautiful, but no longer soft. A faint scar cut across her jaw. Her lips curved into a slow, dangerous smile. “Because your brother’s past is about to destroy your future. And you need me to stop it.” Zayden raised a brow. “You’ve changed.” “So have you.” His eyes darkened. “You’re brave coming back here.” “I’m not brave,” she said. “I’m furious.” He stepped closer. “Why should I trust you?” “You shouldn’t.” Zayden paused, studying her again. “Then why are you really here?” She didn’t blink. “Because we both want the same thing: Luka ruined. And I have the proof to burn him down.” Silence fell between them like a held breath. Then Zayden stepped back. “Follow me.” He led her through the mansion into the west wing—cold, unused, untouched by the current Luna, who was long dead. Zayden opened a door to a chamber lit by low firelight and motioned inside. “You’ll stay here.” “I’m not a prisoner.” “No,” he said. “You’re a storm I’d rather keep close.” She stepped inside, brushing past him. The air between them crackled with something neither of them wanted to name. Her fingers grazed his as she passed, just a brief contact—but it burned. Zayden’s gaze snapped to hers. “You feel it too,” he said quietly. She froze. “What?” “The bond.” Her heart slammed. “No,” she whispered. “That’s not possible.” He stepped toward her again, slow, unrelenting. “When I touched you just now… my wolf stirred.” “You’re wrong,” she said, backing up. But her chest was already tight, her skin tingling. The connection was real. Familiar, but different. “I already had a mate,” she said. “Luka. He rejected me.” “Then fate gave you another.” “That doesn’t happen.” “It just did.” She turned away, breath shaky. Zayden’s voice was softer now, still deep. “You don’t have to accept it. But we both know it’s there.” Seraphina gritted her teeth. “I didn’t come here for a mate. I came for justice.” “Then we’re still on the same side.” She looked at him again, this Alpha who had always stood in the shadows of his younger brother… and now ruled alone. “I want your word,” she said. “If I help you, I leave alive. Free. No chains. No claims.” Zayden’s eyes narrowed. “You’ll have my protection. Not because I owe it to you—but because I want it that way.” “Fine.” He stepped back, giving her space. “Rest. We’ll talk again at dawn.” She waited until he left before letting her shoulders fall. The bond was there. And it terrified her. That night, she dreamed of fire. Of howls and betrayal. Of Luka’s voice whispering her name just before a blade pierced her heart. She woke gasping, sweat sticking to her skin, her wolf howling inside. She got out of bed, wrapped her cloak tight, and left the room. The halls were empty. But she wasn’t alone. She could feel Zayden—his presence was like a storm cloud resting just over the mansion. She followed the pull. Found him on the training grounds, shirtless, his body glistening with sweat, silver eyes focused on a wooden dummy that shattered under his blow. He looked at her. Didn’t speak. Didn’t need to. “I couldn’t sleep,” she said. He nodded once. “Neither could I.” She walked closer, her voice low. “Do you always train when you’re haunted?” “It’s the only way to silence the ghosts.” She nodded. “I used to cry.” “I doubt that.” She looked away. “Not anymore.” Zayden stepped closer, wiping sweat from his brow with a towel. “Do you still love him?” The question hit harder than she expected. “No,” she said. “I don’t even hate him.” Zayden tilted his head. “Then what do you feel?” She looked into his eyes. “Nothing. And I want to keep it that way.” Zayden moved until he was inches from her. But he didn’t touch. He didn’t have to. His voice was low, raw. “I don’t want to own you, Seraphina. I want you to choose.” She looked up, breath shallow. “Why?” “Because choice is the only freedom left in this world.” And with that, he turned and walked away. Leaving her in the darkness. With a bond she never asked for. And a war she could no longer avoid.
