My head suddenly snapped up, making me far too aware of the fact that I had nodded off sitting at my desk. I looked around vaguely, honestly not aware of what had woken me up. There was another sudden hammering at my door. I rubbed my face and pushed myself up wobbling as I staggered across the room. The hammering persisted, clearly desperate. My sleep-fogged brain is confused as I had assumed it was just my pissed up roommate who had locked himself out again, but the urgency didn't tally.
