The Representative

As the days went on, O’Flynne saw Kataya’s strength returning little by little, however it would be some time before she would be fit to travel to her new home, let alone to be presented to the High Order. The High Order had given him someone to contact in case of something like this, or even not being able to find the Fairy in time of the dead line of one year. So he spoke with The Master who agreed that the representative needed to be informed of the situation. As O’Flynne wrote the letter he gave as much details as he could about the situation, he then gave it to the servant that The Master had set for this task. During this time while Kataya was recovering The Master spent hos time confirming O’Flynne’s story, he had seen his interactions for himself. He was pleased with this, however there was some concern that this was a front, it was not uncommon for Vampires to put fronts on to get things, or even feeders they wanted. The Master knew that some parts of O’Flynne’s story would be almost impossible to confirm due to the High Orders involvement, however the letter that O’Flynne sent was the last piece he would need. Many Lords had already sent replies to his inquires about O’Flynne and his stay, they all gave high praise, even the Master of Kenthen Castle was able to confirm that he had received word of O’Flynne’s change as well as to expect his arrival. This was all very pleasing to The Master, especially since they had found very little evidence against Marcus. A response from the Representative came very quickly, much to the surprise of both O’Flynne and The Master. The letter outlined that the Representative was pleased to hear from O’Flynne and that he would be coming to the Castle within a day of them receiving the letter. As well as he expected to meet The Master and Kataya as soon as possible. The Master made the arrangements for his arrival, as well as dinner plans, he knew that Kataya would be able to sit through dinner not much else but this would be a comfortable situation for her to meet this Representative of the High Order. The Representative arrived and was pleased by what he saw, O’Flynne’s change was holding and very well, he was able to see the magic that was used for the change. Everything was as it should be with O’Flynne, he even was extremely pleased with his interactions with those of the household. At dinner the Representative was pleased with how O’Flynne treated Kataya, he could see that she was spirited, yet grounded in away that would be good for O’Flynne. She would help him grow and develop as a person which was what the High Order was looking for, they knew his Vampire line they also knew his potential that he could achieve. After dinner Kataya was taken back to her room it was clear she was very tried after eating and talking with everyone. The Master lead the Representative to the Parlor, for an informal setting so they all could talk, while O’Flynne took care of Kataya The Master and the Representative talked about O’Flynnes stay thus far, as well as Kataya’s recovery. Shorty after O’Flynne returned the Representative revealed some answers to both of them: “O’Flynne, your Vampiric line is very different in the fact that instead of having lots of feeders they have a few, as well as, just one that is their favorite. This favorite is normally their bond Mate, if you will. This Mate is one of the few that can reach you even in a blood rage, The High Order knew this about you, which is why they made the offer, as well as sent you on this journo to find her. Kataya is your Mate O’Flynne, she will help you deal with the changes you have experienced as well as learn how to develop as a person.” “As I understand it Mates are for life, her life span is short in comparison to mine., would this not complicate things?” O’Flynne asked. “There is potential for complications, yes, however the High Order, does not make requests like this without good reason O’Flynne.” The Representative said. “I see.” O’Flynne said The thought of Kataya dying of old age did not sit well, with O’Flynne, he cared so much for her that he knew he would not be able to deal with her loss well. There was also the problem of inter-species claiming, there was a chance she would not live through the process. If anything happened to her it would destroy him, was that the point of all of this. To teach him the pain of loss, the same pain that he had inflicted on so many others. He could see the High Order doing something like that, he could also see them know more than they ever told anyone. He would not be surprised if they knew how this would turn out, but would it this situation have a happy ending or would he lose the control he had fought so hard to learn and end up dead. As these questions ran through his mind the Representative spoke: “Now for the time you requested, you may have as much time as needed, I have been asked to be here and monitor the situation. She obviously needs more time to heal fully, since the High Order is not here I have been given a limited amount of power, I am able to give you the time as I see fit. Anything more than that will have to be cleared with them. As for the possible problems with this Marcus let us hope that he does not try anything, if he does I will lead as much aid as I can.” The Representative said. Just as he finished speaking a servant was heard screaming: “SHE’S GONE!” Before a human could react O’Flynne was already gone from the Parlor, he as headed straight to Kataya’s room. The Master followed but a slower pace for his guest. They found O’Flynne standing there analyzing her room there was evidence of a struggle, she did not have enough strength to fight long. Both The Master and O’Flynne could smell it, the scent of the person who was her, the Quartermaster. Outside the room the servants were scrambling to search the Castle. Once they were organized under the Headmistress, The Master went to Marcus’ room to ask him if he knew anything. As The Master left Marcus’ room he saw the Representative and O’Flynne standing in the Hallway, he walked over to them and spoke: “He knows what happened to Kataya, he did not say it but I could hear it and smell it. He is scared, I want to see if we can force him to tell us the truth. For now we will wait. We have many people to question here, I will also ask my contacts if any sales have happened recently if so that maybe where she is. We will have our answer quickly.” “We must hurry, she is not in a good condition.” O’Flynne said with great concern in his voice. “We will find her, you have my word O’Flynne. I will do everything I can to find her. It is late, and that means for now our task is done. I’m sure we will have more to go on tomoorw.” The Master reassured O’Flynne. “Thank you, my Lord.” O’Flynne said. As with many things in life there was no time to wait, yet with no clear idea where she was taken, they had to wait for a response from either the servants sent to the surrounding towns. The servants began to return, finally a break through some had news, there had been a capture contract for Marcus as well as Erik had been sent out, however the origin was left blank, this at least narrowed the list of possibility down from a few dozen down to only three possibility's. There was also news that a group of Orc’s and half Orc’s known as the Tenthork had taken the contract, and that they where headed towards the Castle and would be there within the next few days. This information came just at sunset, so this gave The Master a viable reason to interrogate Erik. The Master took Erik to a very bare room, O’Flynne joined him, they questioned him until almost dawn. Although he never verbally admitted to knowing anything about what happened to Kataya, his body betrayed him greatly, both The Master and O’Flynne knew from his heart beat as well as the smell of fear that he knew exactly what had happened. The next day the Tenthork arrived The Master saw them immediately, they allowed him to explain his situation, and gave them a proposal to their liking. They could complete there contract when they had gotten the information about Kataya’s location, they agreed to this since both Marcus and Erik were both living at the Castle it made it easy for them to keep an eye on them. Orc’s were known to keep their agreements, they were even honorable to a degree, even by human standards. That even at dinner is when things became clear that Marcus and Erik had very different plans than originally thought. Dinner had been rather quiet, everyone was deep in thought about how to continue with the search, then the sound of an air dart was heard by The Master. He moved faster than a human eye could track he caught the dart before it hit its mark, the dart had come from the shadows. O’Flynne had gotten up and went over to where it had come from quick as a flash. But when he got to the spot where the dart came from there was no one, just the linger smell of the Quartermaster. He looked back to The Master and spoke Vampiric: “It was Erik.” “Marcus can not escape!” The Master replied in Vampiric. O’Flynne nodded, they both understood what had just happened, the looming feeling of waitign for something to happen, this was it. The Master then bellowed loud enough for it to echo through the Castle: “FIND ERIK!” the whole house was in an uproar, the Tenthork joined in the hunt for Erik. O’Flynne went straight to Marcus’ room he found him standing in his common area, he was packing. As if he knew that this was going to happen tonight, from the look of things he was almost done. O’Flynne was using all of his Vampire abilities his speed to get in unseen, he stood in the shadows watching Marcus become more and more uneasy. Marcus scanned the room several times but found nothing. O’Flynne wanted to kill him so badly, but he knew if he did he would kill the only chance he had of find Kataya. He decided that incapacitating him was a better choice, O’Flynne saw a writing board that was well worn, he picked it up and stood behind Marcus, he then hit him hard of the head. The Master followed by the Representative found O’Flynne tying Marcus up to both of their surprise, he did not kill him. It had been determined that Erik was no longer in the Castle or on the grounds. The Tenthork were through as well as quick. The Representative was the first to speak: “I wondered if you would kill him or not. I would not been upset if you did. He has messed with your Mate.” “Nor I” said The Master “Well, this is not my household, and he is the only one we still have in custody that knows where Kataya is.” O’Flynne said. The Master smiled and picked Marcus up by the back of his shirt, he took him to an interrogation room put him in a chair in the dark. They then discussed there options, they had very few at the moment and were running out of time. So this left on last option, The Master knew what to do, they would have their answer one way or another.
