Unexpected Sighting
Lexa's POV: The wind whipping at my face, the ground flying beneath my paws, scents of the forest all around me. I skid to a stop just as I reach the creek. I lap up the cool refreshing water then lick my lips. I glance down into the water and see my light brown wolf staring back at me, as always. My name is Lexa Greer, I'm 22 years old. I have been trying to avenge my parents since they were killed when I was 13. My parents were from rival packs. My Dad was from the Dark Blood pack and my mom was from the Silver Moon pack. They both decided to become rouges in order to be together and eventually had me. They were happy, at least for awhile. Flash Back: It was the night before my 13th birthday. I wake up to a loud crash. Then my mom comes flying in my room, telling me to stay quiet. "They found us!" she whispers to me. As she ushers me in to the secret bunker under the rug in my room. Once I'm safe inside she closes me in and puts the rug back where it was. I crouch in silence and wait. A minute or two pass before I hear anything. Then I hear muffled screaming, fighting wolves, and pained whines. Then the whining stops, and the screaming gets louder. Then the screaming stops abruptly and I know immediately what happened. Tears start to flow freely down my face but I still don't make a sound. I hear feet shuffling about then nothing. End of Flash Back: Dark Blood pack had tracked them down and killed them both just for being together. They never found me hiding in the secret bunker. I stayed in that bunker for 2 days before I could muster the courage to leave. I shake my head then all down my body, as the last few thoughts of that day leave my mind. I take off, jumping over the creek and jetting into the waiting forest, back to the den I call home. Ash's POV: As I run along the edge of my territory, I finally feel myself relax. I've been stuck at the pack house preparing for the arrival of the council for 3 weeks only getting out for a couple minutes at a time. It feels wonderful to be able to just let my wolf run. He is an unruly beast on the best days but being cooped up makes him down right horrid to try and manage. Letting him out to run and mark our territory seems to do the trick of calming him. Just as I reach the southeast corner of our territory my wolf catches a scent that sends us both reeling. "MATE" he shouts in my head. I mind link Jack my bata and best friend: "I'm taking a short run into rouge territory, be back soon." "Wait and I'll come with you. You shouldn't go alone." he says back "I'll be fine Jack." then block him out of my mind. We dart across the border and run into rouge territory that borders us to the south. We follow the scent about two miles before we catch sight of a beautiful light brown wolf. She is stunning with a lean muscular build and honey under tones in her fur. She shakes out her coat, then takes off into the forest. I'm left stunned. I found her. I found my mate. My wolf wants to chase after her but I know I need to get back to the pack house and finalize all the last minute details for the arrival of the council. I decided we will come back tomorrow and try to find her hopefully I can. Heading home, I reach the border just at Jack does. "See totally fine." I tell Jack through mind link, his wolf glares at me. "Come on Alpha, we don't want to be late." he says as we both head towards the pack house. "Late to what?" I ask him scouring my brain for the answer. "The pack meeting." he tells me in a bored tone "s**t I totally forgot about the pack meeting." I bump my side against him then take off. "Then we better hurry!" I yell as I push my wolf faster. Just before we reach the meadow around the pack house, he flys passed me. He has always been faster than me but what I lack in speed I make up for with size. I'm 20 pound of pure muscle heavier than him and at 6'8" I dwarf most wolves in our human form. Feeling much better then when I left, I shift back into my human skin then head inside. With beautiful images flashing through my mind of my mate, I start the days proceedings, excited about the future.
