We usually collect our gambling debt within a couple of days, but I had given you over a week. I don't think its fair to take advantage of the kindness of a generous man," Mr. Chojiro kept grinding the heel of his shoes on the face of Kevin. As he spoke, Mr. Chojiro kept lustfully staring that curves of Kevin's sister, Leanna, like a shameless p*****t. Leanna is a single mother with a daughter. Due to the current struggling economy of the country, the mass layoffs and the shutdowns of the businesses, she found it hard to find employment and struggled to make ends meet. Like a godsend, her step-brother Kevin offered to share his apartment with her and helped her get a job in the same small hardware store that he worked in. Though life wasn't perfect, Leanna found solace in the care that her last family member showed her. Pooling both of their small income, the brother and sister lived a quaint life interdependent on each other. Kevin's niece Casey, was the spark of happiness for the brother-sister duo in their mundane and thrifty lifestyle, making them chuckle with her innocent and mischevious antics. However, their little world received a heartwrenching jolt when they were informed that Casey has collapsed in the middle of the class in school. Noticing the sporadic breathing and the swollen lymph nodes the school nurse immediately called in an ambulance. Leanna and Kevin rushed to the hospital and after hours of waiting, Casey was roused from her collapse. The doctor, however, suggested running some tests on Casey's blood. The brother and sister thought that it will most probably be a nutrition deficiency due to their thrifty lifestyle. Still, Leanna agreed to get Casey's blood tested. As a mother, she does not want to take chances on the health of her child. In a week's time, the doctor called Leanna to give the blood report of Casey. Leanna felt nothing short of being thunderstruck when she heard the doctor say that Casey was diagnosed with blood cancer. The doctor further explained the necessary medical treatment that Casey has to immediately undergo and the corresponding cost of such medical procedures. Leanna felt her soul was lost and as a wooden corpse she returned back to their small apartment. Kevin felt something was wrong when his sister did not come back to work after her visit to the doctor. At lunch, he rushed to the apartment knowing that his sister will most probably be there. Seeing her brother, Leanna just rushed to him, held him tight and cried her heart out. Kevin looked through the medical report and found out that Casey has blood cancer. Being the man of the house, he felt the need to handle this difficult situation. However, being only 20 years old, with no college education, Kevin was at a loss on how to sort out the money needs of Casey's treatment. Both Leanna and Kevin saved a little amount of money for Casey's college, but it wasn't even enough for preliminary medical expenses. A desperate mind will clutch at anything for hope. Kevin overheard his co-worker earning a few thousand in a night of gambling. Desperation pushed Kevin to only see the opportunity in gambling, not the pitfall, in which the most falls into. Taking their combined savings, Kevin set out to a gambling den in hopes of winning money for Casey's treatment. Though he is not a professional, Kevin is deft at poker. Only in a short while after he started playing, Kevin doubled his money. That is when the floor manager of the gambling den set his eyes on him. Floor managers are put in place to make sure that the players don't cheat. But more lately, their primary job objective is to hustle high winners. There are no governing rules as most of the gambling dens are owned by yakuza. Where there are criminals as the boss, everything is murky and there is nothing that good or bad, everything is valued at convenience and cost. Hasegawa Chojiro is the floor manager of the gambling den where Kevin was at. Hasegawa knew Kevin from the store where Kevin worked, Hasegawa was a regular at the store. The reason that Hasegawa frequented the store because he had his eyes on Kevin's sister Leanna. Despite him expressing his interest in her, the woman always acted oblivious in an attempt to brush him off. Leanna is a sexy mature blonde beauty, at 31 and a mother of one.
