Raven POV * * * * * * * * * Alexander was sitting down at the table, he placed the omelet in the middle and carved a piece for himself. I joined him and put the piece of omelet on my plate.  I was still digesting the information sprung on me by Fredrick. The fact that humans were here willingly, being fed on and as he so graciously put it, being f****d.  ”What’s on your mind princess?” Alexander asked me. I realized how occupied in my thoughts I had been. Fredrick was sitting quietly leaned back on his chair.  ”I was just processing the human feed machine information that your brother shared.” I said, eyeing Fredrick. Alexander stopped with his fork right before it entered his mouth and brought it done to his plate. He turned to his brother, looking furious.  ”You told her?” He seethed. Fredrick straightened his back and raised his head, meeting alexanders gaze with his own. You could tell the authority he held by only looking at someone.  ”What I tell, is up to me. Do not ever question it.” He said and they both turned to me.  ”You shouldn't have told her.” Alexander barely finished the sentence before Fredrick had him up in the air with a hand around his throat.  ”You really need to stop questioning me.” He said and through his brother across the room. Alexander hit the wall and fell down but quickly recovered. A hit like that didn't bother a vampire. Fredrick did so only to showcase his power and status, against his brother.  I sat there and continued to eat my omelet whilst the brothers were having their little argument. Alexander charged at his brother and slammed into him, Fredrick flew into one of the pantries. Boys… I thought to myself. I ducked my head to the left when I saw a wooden stake coming flying towards my head.  ”Sorry princess,” Fredrick said as he walked towards his brother.  They continued fighting each other for another minute or so before I eventually got enough.  ”ENOUGH!” I yelled from my seat, causing both guys to lose focus on what they were doing and turn to me.  ”Excuse me?” Alexander said with an amused look on his face. Fredrick however didn't seem all too happy about a girl trying to boss over him.  ”You’re acting like children. Come and sit the f**k down, eat your breakfast and we’ll talk. However, if you continue bickering like this I'm going to leave you to it.” I said in a stern voice. When the hell did I become a mother?  Both brothers shook it off, straightened their clothes, and came to take their seats. Fredricks ruffly hair didn't look too out of place, Alexander however who had his hair slicked back, looked like he just rose from the dead.  Pun intended.  ”So, why shouldn't he have told me?” I asked, not to start anything up but because I was curious. I wanted to know if there are more things in the future I should be prepared to not hear about.  Alexander looked me deep in the eyes, his stare was intimidating. Fredrick went over to the fridge and poured himself a glass. I guess all this fighting made him hungry.  ”She asked you a question, Alexander. Answer the princess.” Fredrick said from across the room.  ”It’s not that you weren't supposed to know, it’s that nobody is. What we do here, is by all means strictly illegal and against everything that the vampires say is allowed. We don't coerce anyone to be here. Over the many years that this place has been around, humans have sometimes been invited. Either they fall in love with a vampire or a friend tells them, wither way they come here, we tell them the rules and they agree. They all live here.” Alexander explained.  ”And if they want to leave?” I asked and both he and his brother who had joined us again, looked at me, their eyes void of emotions.  ”They don't.” Fredrick said. Alexander looked at his brother with a disapproving look, and then back at me. ”If they want to leave, we give them the option to be turned, and if they don't want to then,” Alexander said and then paused, letting me figure it out myself. I gasped before looking at them both. Hatred filling my body.  ”You kill them.” I said in a gasp. And they nodded their heads.  ”Yup.” Fredrick so sensitively says.  ”You’re no better than my father.” I spat up before standing, ready to walk out.  ”Oh but that’s where you're wrong. Your father sells innocent women and girls against their will. We tell these humans the truth from the start before they enter. We tell them that if they care to precede, there is no out.” Fredrick said. I turned around and looked at him, nodding my head.  My father didn't have the decency to tell the girls what it was that was happening. They didn't get the opportunity to leave. They were thrown into something that they had no say in.  ”You’re right.” I admitted.  ”I know.” That was all Fredrick said before gesturing for me to sit back down. I thought about it for a moment, whether or not I should take a seat. But then I remembered the countless questions I had for the two brothers and went to sit back down.  ”That girl, earlier in the hall. How did she know I was?” I asked while looking between the two of them. Neither of them spoke. They only looked at me as if I was the one with the answers.  So this is it? I ask a question and it goes unanswered. I knew there were secrets to this place, everyone does. I just didn't think I was one of them. I once again stood but I didn't move.  Alexander sighed heavily and leaned back in his chair.  ”We will tell you, I promise. Just not now, the time isn't right.” Alexander said.  ”Any other questions? Perhaps we can answer those,” Fredrick said with a smirk and a glint in his eyes. He knew how bothersome it was for me to be kept in the dark. I could tell it amused him.  "I do have another question,” I started as I once again sat down.  ”How come you're not affected by the sun? I mean there are children outside playing without being harmed. The sun is beaming in through every window and the doors are open. How is that?”  ”Aha, yes. You see many hundred years ago, nearly a thousand, when this castle was built, they wanted it to be as normal for vampires as possible. At first, there was a spell cast like the one you have. Later on, one of the founders found a witch that put a spell around the entire territory. That’s the northern lights that you saw earlier. It lets the sun in, but it can do no harm.” Fredrick said.  ”But that’s impossible,” I said, flabbergasted.  ”Well as you can see, it isn’t.” Alexander said.  The brothers looked at each other as if there was something they contemplated telling me. But they weren't sure if they should. Fredrick gave a nod and turned to me.  ”There is one other thing princes. I and Alexander can be outside in the sun without being hurt," Fredrick started off. "And we believe you can too,” He continued and I was sure I heard him wrong.  ”How?” I asked and he smiled sweetly at me for the first time since I met him.  ”Have you ever been in the sun?” He asked me. ”I have,” Both he and Alexander got shocked by my answer.  ”And you burnt?” Alexander asked and I nodded my head. I decided to tell them about the devils' den.  ***************************** ”Remind me to kill your father once this is all over,” Alexander said, seething through his teeth and gripping the table hard, leaving marks. My brows furrowed as I looked at him.  ”Why? You saw how he was. And the fact that his handing of innocent women should tell you enough about how he is.” I said with a shrug.  ”HE HURT HIS DAUGHTER!” Alexander yelled. What the f**k was that? It wasn't just a loud voice. Some sort of powerful aura exuded from him.  ”That’s enough brother.” Fredrick said in a warning. Alexander slowly began to relax but his eyes were still black and his breathing heavy.  ”Anyways… as you heard, I've been in the sun.” I said.  ”No you haven't, not really. You've been under the kings' influence, seeing as you had his blood in your veins.” Fredrick stated.  ”So you mean to say that I can walk in the sun? Without being hurt?” I asked him. Alexander had now calmed down more and was regaining his composure.  ”Yes, you can. However seeing as you haven't done it before, I wouldn't suggest doing it yet.” Alexander said.  ”He's right, just in case. We wouldn't want you bursting out in flames and exposing the vampires.” Fredrick said while leaning towards the wall. I looked at him dumbfounded.  ”Right, because that’s the worst part about me bursting out in flames. Exposing vampires. d**k,” I said, whispering the last part. I knew of course that he would hear me.  ”What was that?” Fredrick asked me.  ”Oh I’m sorry was I too quiet? I said dick.” I repeated and gave him a big smile. It wasn't appreciated. ”You should really watch that pretty mouth of yours princess. It could get you into trouble one day.” He said. His eyes dark and his jaw clenched. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. Fredrick wasn't calming down and the eye roll I believe tipped him over the edge.  In the blink of an eye, I was pressed up against the wall. Fredricks hand around my throat, squeezing it to the point where I was gasping for air.  ”Whilst being here, you're going to learn how to respect your superiors. One more disrespectful move from you and you’ll be seeing the sharp side of a stake being pressed into your heart. Is that clear?” He asked me. I didn't say anything, I couldn't. I fought to get his hand off, to loosen the grip but to no vain. Fredrick Whitlock was just as strong as people thought.  Why should I show respect to someone who doesn't show it to me? I stared him dead in the eyes and realized that that’s what he wanted. He wanted me to submit.  ”IS THAT CLEAR?! Or perhaps it’s that pathetic excuse of a clan that deserves to be killed. Maybe I'll start with ripping out that Xander boy's heart,” He said with such calm that it actually somewhat frightened me. I was starting to see black dots forming in the field of my vision.  ”SUBMIT!” He yelled. His authority clearer than ever. A part of me wanted to submit to him. A part of me feared for my friends back in my clan.  But I knew that no harm would come to them. My father and Fredrick had an arrangement. I kept my eyes locked with Fredricks and my hands that were gripping his fell to my sides.  Fredrick looked at me in shock. But the shock quickly turned to anger as he let go of my throat and I fell down, gasping for air.  ”You're just as stubborn as she was.” Fredrick said. I couldn't tell if it was resentment or pride I heard in his voice.  ”I was going to kill your father, your friends,” He said and scanned my face for something.  ”Kill my father all you want, but touch my friends and it’s the last thing you do.” I warned him. I knew that I was no match to Fredrick, but I wasn't going to back down. Not when it came to them.
