When April and Dylan left, we went upstairs to her room. To be honest, I was a bit excited, since it had been a while that we were alone like this. As we sat down on the bed, I started kissing her. Her touch felt so good and more powerful than ever. We were finally able to be together as real mates.
Then all of a sudden, she pushed me down hard and ripped my shirt into pieces. I was so surprised by her actions that when I looked into her eyes, I knew it wasn’t going to be her staring back at me, it would be her wolf.
As she started kissing me roughly, I could feel Amy’s panic through our link, she had no idea how to stop this. Heck even for me it was hard sometimes, especially around her.
I pushed her back, “Okay, you had your fun.”
“What are you talking about?” Her wolf asked with a smirk. I knew I needed to be carefull, because this was the first time she took complete control and my wolf was dying to do the same.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.” I felt Amy trying to reach out to me, calling for help.
“Oh, come on, just a little bit. We can have so much fun together.” She started touching my chest playfully with her fingers.
I gave her a stern look, “No.”
“Don’t be such a baby.” She was starting to get on my nerves. I didn’t want Amy to be afraid of all this, so I really needed her wolf to let her take control again.
“I said NO!” I used my Alpha voice this time, making sure that she had no choice but to obey me.
“Ugh, fine.” She whined while crossing her arms in front of her, “You’re no fun.”
I saw Amy’s eyes change and she was in complete shock by what just happened.
“Oh my god, Nick, what was that?” She asked me.
I pulled her in for a tight hug, trying my best to make her feel safe, but she was trembling like a leaf.
“That was your wolf.” I responded softly as I broke our hug.
“She took over completely, I didn’t have any control. I could feel and see everything, but I couldn’t do anything. It felt like I was a prisoner in my own body.” She rambled, the fear clearly audible in her voice.
“I know, I know, it’s okay.”
“That was not okay! It was terrifying. Maybe you are used to this, but I’m not.” She was getting frustrated.
“You’re absolutely right, I have no idea what this must be like for you.” I sincerely confessed after thinking about it for a moment, “I was born like this and I’ve never known anything else. From a young age, they showed me everything. How to use my abilities, how to shift… But that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn these things. I am here for you. To help you keep control, to help you get used to it.”
She looked up at me in complete surprise, not expecting for me to say something like this.
“You know, it’s not all bad.” I started when she didn’t say anything in response, “Being a wolf I mean…”
“Yeah right.” She scoffed while rolling her eyes.
“Once you get there, you’ll hear and see way better, you’ll be faster and stronger then ever before and your wolf will always be there for you. As will your mate. You’ll never be alone again. You’re stuck with us.” I winked at her.
She gave me a weak smile, which turned into a grin within seconds.
“I guess you’re right. It’s just gonna take some time…” She finally got out.
I nodded back at her, “I know. You take all the time you need. Like I said, I’m not going anywhere.” I gave her a small kiss on her forehead, “Except for now, cause I gotta go to the bathroom.”
As I got up and left for the toilet, I could hear a chuckle fading in the background.
When I got back, it seemed as though she was sleeping, so I decided not to wake her and go clean up downstairs.
As I silently walked to her door, she suddenly looked at me, “Where are you going?”
“I thought you were asleep, so I wanted to go downstairs and tidy up before your dad got home.” I explained softly.
“Don’t go, please. Just stay with me.” She gave me a puppy eyed look as her hand motioned to get in the bed again.
She got on her side and I cuddled up behind her.
“Can you hold me until I fall asleep?” She then asked.
“Off course.” I whispered in her ear before pulling her tighter.
‘God I missed this’ I thought to myself as I inhaled her sweet scent. Right then and right there, it felt like I was finally home.
After a while, I noticed she had fallen asleep. I carefully pulled back and left her room. I knew it wouldn’t be long before her dad would be back and I didn’t want to get in trouble. As I was busy putting everything in order, I heard the front door open.
“Hey Nick, what are you still doing here?” He was surprised I hadn’t left already.
“Oh, I just wanted to clean up before heading home.”
“Don’t be silly, you don’t have to do that. I’ll do it myself tomorrow.” He smiled before looking around, “So where’s the rest?”
“April and Dylan left a little while ago and Amy fell asleep so I carried her upstairs.” I invented the last part.
“That’s good, she’ll need the rest. Now you drop that and let me drive you home.”
“Alright, alright.” I stopped with what I was doing and lifted my hands.
We headed to his car and left.
“So did Amy have a good time?” He questioned while driving.
“Yeah, I think she did.” I grinned back at him. You really could tell that she meant the world to him.
“I’m glad. So what did you do?”
“Amy wanted to do a movie marathon, so we watched like 5 Harry Potter films.” I chuckled.
“Ah yes, she really loves those movies.” I could hear his voice become more emotional, “It was the first book her mother gave her. After that, they used to watch the films together.”
I didn’t know how to respond so it was quiet for the rest of the drive. The only thing you could hear was the sound of the gps.
“You have reached your destination.” The voice said.
“You know, you have an amazing daughter. Your wife would be proud of her.” I finally spoke before getting out of the car.
He beamed, “I know.”

~ Amy’s POV ~
I woke up to the sound of the front door getting shut. I turned around and noticed Nick was gone. When I checked my phone I had a message from him saying that my dad dropped him off at his place.
I heard my door creak open and I saw my father standing in the opening.
“Hi honey, you’re still awake?” He asked when he noticed the light from my phone.
“Yeah, I just heard you come in. Did you get Nick home safely?”
“Yes and you know what, I really like him. He’s a good guy.” It meant a lot for me to hear him say that.
“Thanks dad, he is.” I responded.
“Well, I’m gonna let you get some rest.” But before he could leave, I stopped him.
“Hey dad…”
“Yeah sweetheart?”
“There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you.” I confessed hesitantly.
“Oh. Good or bad?”
“Just, come sit down for a moment.” I ordered him while switching on my night light.
He did as I said, but I could hear his heartbeat raising.
“What is it darling?” He sounded concerned.
“When I was in that coma, I saw something…” I knew I had to adapt my story a little bit, “I-I
saw mom.”
He just stared at me as though he’d seen a ghost himself.
“I know this sounds crazy, but she was there, waiting for me. It felt like a dream, but it wasn’t really. She’s the one who guided me back to you.”
“Wow.” Was all he could get out, clearly not knowing what else to say.
“Before I came back, she told me to say hi to you. It was so hard saying goodbye to her again, but I’m so glad that I was able to see her one last time dad.” I spoke while tears collected in my eyes.
After a moment of silence, he finally found the right words, “Amy, I’ll never completely understand what has happened to you when you were in that coma, and if you say you saw your mom and that she helped you get back to me, then I believe you and I’m happy about it, because I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”
I hugged him harder than I’ve ever done before.
“Now go back to sleep. Tomorrow is a school day.” He said before kissing me good night.
