“What if you tell your dad you have a project you have to work on with April.” He put his hands on my hips and pulled me closer towards him. I could feel his hardness as his eyes gazed into mine with pure desire, “And that you are going to stay over at her place…”

“Mister Cooper, what are you implying?” I gave him a seductive smile.

He slowly brushed his nose to my neck before whispering huskily in my ear, “You’ll find out tomorrow.”

I moaned softly as I could feel a shiver go down my spine and he pulled back immediately, making me look at him in confusion.

“There’s more where that came from, if you promise you’ll be there.” He winked at me playfully. He was such a tease.

Chapter 1: A New Beginning (Nick's POV)
“Come on Amy, please! It’s going to be okay, don’t give up on me now, you’re going to be fine!” I whispered in her ear before letting out another growl. It felt as if my whole world was slowly crumbling down. Accalia approached, sat down beside me and pulled me in for a hug.  “I’ll wait with you.” She spoke softly, “Even if it takes forever.” Everyone else kept quiet. The only thing you could hear were the soft sounds of sobs.   My head was buried in Accalia’s arms when suddenly a fire raged through my entire body. It ignited something inside me that I hadn’t felt before.  I reached for my chest, while gasping for air. Then I knew.  Every single one of her thoughts, her desires, her fears… I could slowly feel her coming back to me. She gasped and opened her eyes, “Nick!” She exclaimed while locking eyes with me. I could hear the relieved reactions from behind me. But before I could say anything, she passed out into my arms again.  “Amy!” I yelled, feeling a mixture of happiness and anxiousness.  “Amy, wake up.” I tried shaking her gently. My mother came closer and reached for her wrist.  “Her pulse is weak, she needs help. We have to take her to the Pack Hospital.” She ordered. I lifted her from the ground, wanting to start running as fast as I could, but before leaving, Dylan said, “We’ll see you there.”  My family, Alex, Jake and I reached the hospital in no time. My mom gave orders to the nurses and doctors before disappearing with them behind a big door. I wanted to follow, but my father held me back, “You better wait here son.”  “What are they going to do?” I questioned him, concerned. “They have to check her vitals, see if everything is okay and if her wound is healing.” He spoke softly before continuing, “Nothing to worry about, she’s going to be fine. Thanks to you.” “Maybe you should get checked up as well.” Accalia suddenly said, lifting one eyebrow. “I'll be okay.” I mumbled, feeling the pain slowly kicking in again after the adrenaline from the fight wore off.   We sat down patiently when the doors flew open, Dylan and April rushing in.  “You two can’t be here!” One of the nurses yelled at them with a frown. “It’s okay, they’re with us.” My father spoke up. “Oh, I’m sorry Alpha.” She apologized, confused. “So where is she?” April asked us. “They’ve taken her to do a check up.” I responded softly, the fear clearly audible in my voice. It was silent for a moment.  “You know, I’m kind of having a déjà vu moment.” Dylan chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. “What do you mean?” Accalia gave him a questioning look, clearly not having any clue. “It’s not the first time Nick ran off with an unconscious Amy, trying to save her.”  I gave him an angry stare. “Too soon?” He looked at me with apologetic eyes and went silent again. We waited for about thirty minutes before my mom came back, making us all stand up in curiosity. When she didn’t say anything right away, I gave her an impatient look. “Her vitals are okay, her heartbeat is stabilized for now and we cleaned her wound, helping it to heal faster.” My mom informed us. “So she will be okay?” I asked, wanting to hear those exact words, as if without them, I wouldn’t be able to breathe. “She will be fine.” My mom smiled at me. We all sighed in relief and everybody was hugging each other. “But, do know that she’s gonna need some time to heal and it may take a while before she wakes up. She’s been through a lot. She was gone for a few minutes…” My mom clarified. “We still don’t know if that affected her in any way.” She continued I nodded with clenched teeth, “Can I go see her?”  “Yes, of course.” She responded softly.  I looked at my friends and family one more time before leaving the waiting room. When I entered Amy’s room, there was a nurse finishing up some work. She smiled and bowed her head at me before leaving.  I got closer to Amy and sat down beside her. I took her hand in mine and with my other one I started caressing her brown hair.  “Thank you…” I let out softly before kissing her hand, “Thank you for coming back to me.” —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ~ April’s POV~ We stayed behind in the waiting room, while Nick left to see Amy. Dylan and I decided to give him some time before going in as well. We knocked on the door softly, getting a weak “Come in” in response. “Hey, we wanted to come check on you guys before heading home.” I explained. It had been a long day and we were all exhausted, so we could really use some rest. “How are you holding on?” I asked him. Everyone was so concerned about Amy’s safety, that no one asked about how he was feeling. “I don’t know…” He started softly, “I mean, this is all my fault. Everything that’s happened is my fault. She saved me and I wasn’t able to protect her… She almost died because of me! I failed her, I failed my mate...” You could see the guilt in his watery eyes. Dylan and I looked at each other before I spoke, “Nick, that’s not true! She is here, alive, because of you. You did everything you could!” “Well, it sure doesn’t feel like it.” Tears were now rolling down his cheek.  “Nick, no one would’ve been able to stop Jeremy. He came out of nowhere…” Dylan tried convincing him. “Exactly! So stop feeling sorry for yourself and be here for her. She’s gonna need you now more than ever.” I added staring him in the eyes. He lowered his head and gave us a small nod. “If anything changes, you let us know.” Dylan spoke after a moment of silence. “I will.” He promised and we turned around, ready to leave, but before I opened the door he stopped us, “April, could you do me a favor?” I turned around again, gazing at him in surprise, “Yeah, sure, what do you need?” “Could you, maybe, go talk to her father? I left in a hurry when I last saw him and he must be worried sick about her…” “What should I tell him?”  “Just tell him that she had an incident while hiking, but that she’s going to be fine. And that he can come visit her here.” “Isn’t that dangerous, I mean with all the wolves here?” I questioned him. “I will warn the Pack, you don’t worry about that.” He responded. “Okay, I’ll go see him first thing tomorrow.” I assured him. “Thank you, and thank you for everything you two did today!” He paused for a second, “We’re really lucky to have friends like you.”  I shot him a smile before turning around and leaving the hospital. Dylan and I didn’t say a word during the car ride home. When we came to a stop in front of my place he turned into my direction with a worried look on his face. “Are you okay?” He asked concerned. I looked at him and then stared out the window into the darkness, not knowing the answer to his question. Was I okay? “I’m just glad Amy is going to be fine.” I finally got out. “No, I’m not talking about Amy… I want to know if you're okay, after everything that’s happened.” He tried again, making me look him in the eyes. “I guess I will be.” I said, “Are you?” I questioned in return, after seeing his expression. “I don’t know… Seeing Nick almost lose Amy, it really made me think…”  “About what?” I had no idea where he was going with this. Looking me in the eyes, he confessed shyly , “Us… I can’t risk the possibility of losing you without telling you how I feel.”  I stared at him in surprise while he slowly lowered his gaze. I knew it took all his courage to say this. He’s been in love with me for a long time, but never tried anything, heck, he never even mentioned it.  But I was happy he did. I put my hand on his cheek and turned his head slowly towards me, caressing him while speaking, “You’re not getting rid of me just yet.” I slowly closed the gap between us, inhaling his manly scent, before our lips touched carefully. I could feel how tense he was, but once he realized what was happening, he slowly loosened up and kissed me back. Putting his hands on my lower back, he pulled me in tighter and I felt myself getting lost in his embrace.   When we separated, I kept my eyes closed for a bit longer, his sweet taste still lingering, and when I opened them, I saw him do the same. When he finally opened his eyes again, he looked at me with a huge smile on his face. “Good night Dylan.” I chuckled, opening my door. “Good night, April.” He got out before I closed it behind me and walked towards my house. “April!” I heard someone call out my name when I got inside. I turned around to see my grandmother stand in the kitchen opening. “Did you do it? Is the Luna still alive?” She asked, her brown eyes staring at me in expectation. “Yes Nana, we did it.” I informed her. “And the Alpha?”  “He, he got away…” I confessed hesitantly. I saw the disappointment on her face before she spoke, “We need to find him. If we don’t get to him soon, we will all be in grave danger.”
