I entered Haley’s room in the hope that she would be awake. Walking in and seeing her lying in the hospital bed gave me a terrible déjà vu moment. The last time I was in here was when Amy almost died, and depending on how this conversation went, there was a possibility that soon one of us would stand here again.
“Nick?” Haley’s words pulled me out of my dark thoughts and I walked closer to her.
“Hey, long time no see.” I responded softly.
“Oh god, I’m so happy to see you!” She tried getting up, but failed. She was still so weak.
“Hey don’t worry.” I motioned her to relax.
“So, can you tell me what happened?” Before I would start accusing her, I wanted to know what she had to say.
