Detective Inspector Lukas Reimann from the tactical unit of the Swiss Federal Police was waiting to meet them at Kloten airport when they arrived in Zurich. He led them through the VIP exit and took them to the hotel where Sonia had reserved their accommodation. It was only a stone's throw from central police headquarters.
The hotel was a modern-looking brick and glass place which appeared more functional than comfortable. And, more importantly, was within their travel allowance. After signing in, Reimann took them into the hotel bar and, over a round of beers, brought them up to speed on his people's progress so far.
