The following Monday, Inspector Ziegler and Sergeant Rodden returned crest-fallen from Zurich. What Mario had feared had actually happened. The Swiss experts were too confident that their top-notch equipment was infallible. Technically, it couldn't be faulted. But the wiles of human beings are still superior to technology – even with the aid of artificial intelligence.
"So what went wrong, Inspector?" Kruger demanded when Mario and Lars had made their report.
