Monika Tiller was so excited she almost missed Gia's following phone call – to Max Vogel.
"I'm ready to do a deal," she said in a brisk voice. No small talk. "Hand me your share in the modelling agency and one and a half million euros to defray expenses, and I'll drop the lawsuit against you."
"Hey, are you serious?"
"Yes."
"Hey, Gia, you're a doll. I knew you weren't being serious with all those crappy threats about suing me. You and me are partners. Old friends. Tell me where you want to go, baby, and I'll buy you the golden ticket."
He rambled on, she not saying a word. "... yeah, yeah, OK then I'll get my guys in Dusseldorf to draw up the paperwork. Yes, sir. Hans Metzler will ..."
"I want the contract by tomorrow, your copy signed and a bank-certified cheque enclosed
