SUNDAY MARCH 5, RIVERS END
Eli sat in the passenger seat of Ginger’s SUV, staring out the window at the Big River Lodge. It looked different without all the snow. But then, pretty much everything in his life was different since the last time he’d sat in this spot.
“Are you okay, Eli?”
He was so glad she’d come with him.
Two months had passed since the arrest. Despite dropping the charges in the end, his sister had ignored his repeated attempts to set something up so he could apologize in person.
