CHAPTER 24
Eli sat with his head in his hands, doing his best not to look around. The fewer reminders of his time in this cell, the better. The last couple of hours had given him plenty of time to think about exactly how badly he’d screwed everything up.
For once he’d thought things were looking up. He had a job he was actually excited about, and Ginger had agreed to give him another chance. With Gareth and the GND Security team helping him out with the Russo situation, he was feeling pretty hopeful about the future.
He’d spent some time up at Spirit Lake thinking about what he really wanted, and what he wanted was to settle down in Rivers End and act like a responsible adult. His resolution for the new year was more of a list: get a job, a girlfriend, a home and to start the process of
