And wait they did. There was nothing in the reception area to distract them. No screens. No pictures. Nothing except a clock on the wall which showed hours and minutes. Before long Kaira decided it was running slowly. The wait for each minute to change was agonising. The thought of the minutes still to come even worse. Tarkus sat calmly, seeming to stare at nothing. His breathing was deep and even. Kaira once again wondered whether he spent his time alone in his cabin meditating.
