It was an awesome sight, if overwhelming in smell, and it made him feel small. He’d never really understood just how many people lived in the tower. Seeing this… it drove it home. After some time he noticed there weren’t just the open pits which the vehicles were heading to. In the distance he saw square metal walls running from the high ceiling down to lock in place over what must be more pits. It could only be for rubbish from higher floors.
