"I love you, Adrian." Lucia mumbled as I gently placed her on the bed.
My body tensed and I instantly peered down at her face. "What did you say sweetheart?"
She still appeared fast asleep and didn’t respond. I stroked back some of her hair which had fallen on her face, my heart tugging when I saw her puffy eyes.
"Sweetheart." I mumbled again, reclining onto the bed beside her. "Say it again."
Her voice appeared so sincere when she said the words… the exact words I've been wanting… craving to hear from her. Were they real? I wanted to believe it, but… everything was so confusing.
