CHAPTER 3

Julian walked down the hallway searching for Elizabeth who he saw running away from the party while crying. Worried about her he asked Gladis who he was helping to to carry the trays along with the other servants.

" Go to her she needs you" Gladis said taking the tray away from Julian and gave him a gentle shove telling him to go after his wife. Julian gave her a grateful smile as he rushes after Elizabeth.

He dodges past party guest as he searches for his wife desperate to see what's wrong and to offer her comfort. As he walks down an empty hallway his thoughts turned from his wife to her family.

They must have said or done something to her to make her upset.He clenches his fist in anger before stops and takes a deep breath.Getting angry at them won't help now right now his wife needs him so he pushes thoughts about her family aside and continued his search.

He searched the guest rooms one at a time looking for her. He then heard gentle sobbing coming from her room. Julian knocks then entered the room to see Elizabeth sitting down on the bed with her head in her hands crying. " Elizabeth?" Julian said taking a cautious step towards her.

She heard his voice and footsteps but she didn't have the courage look up at him. once he stood beside her Julian sat down beside her on the bed wrapping his arms protectively around her.

She stiffened for a moment then relaxed but not before she turned around and began crying into his chest as he held her running his hands up and down her back in a comforting manner.

" Shhh it's ok now, no need to cry I'm here for you" he said holding her closer, like she was the most precious thing he's ever held. Elizabeth hugged him closer as she felt the same amount of love and affection that he has for her. Knowing what she had to do only broke her heart further and with it came a flood of emotions that overwhelmed her.She began crying again all the while the man that she will always loved held her close.

They both sat there for what felt like hours and despite her soaking and staining hers jacket with her tears and make up he held her close allowing her to let everything go. When she stopped crying when she finally ran out of tears.

Julian wipped the tears from her cheeks and placed a stray strand of her behind her ear as he looked down at her.

As Elizabeth sat their in his comforting embrace looking up into his kind and gentle blue eyes she was overcome with the urge to press her lips against his.

So she looked up at him and placed a loving hand against his cheek and pulled him closer towards him. Julian hesitated before he claims her luscious lips with his own. She then climbed into his lap wrapping her arms around his neck.

Julian wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close intensifying their first ever kiss. Elizabeth had always wondered what it would have been like during their first ever kiss and now she knows. She opened her eyes and looked at her hand seeing the item that will tear them apart forever.

Julian broke the kiss first looking at her he then placed his forehead against hers the both of them breathing heavily." Thank you you for everything and I'm sorry" she said apologizing for what she was about to do while pulling away from Julian and climbing out of his lap then standing up.

" Elizabeth what's wrong what are you sorry for?" Julian asked as he watched her pace across the room as if steadying herself for something she then stopped and looked out at the night sky at the beautiful cloudless night sky.

" Elizabeth?" he asked standing up and placed a comforting hand against her shoulder. She had her back turned towards him. She turned around and faced him head hung low. She didn't want to look into his eyes, because she. knew she was about to break his heart.

" Julian I have something I need to tell you," she said taking his hand off her shoulder. Julian was hurt by her gesture and she knew that he was but she had to do this, if she wanted to keep him safe, she needed to make him hate and resent her.

She needed to break his heart.

" Elizabeth what's wrong?" did I do something wrong?" he asked. She could hear in his voice that he was concerned that he had done something wrong but she knew he was more concerned about her.

She took a deep breath and raised her left hand causing the diamond engagement ring to shine in the moonlight. Julian's eyes went wide as he stared at his wife then at her hand.

" tell me this is some kind of joke, please tell me I'm still sleeping and I'm having a nightmare," he said as tears quickly began building up in his eyes.

" No this isn't I've fallen for someone else some better than you,were done" she said mustering as much coldness in her voice as she could muster and judging by how is eyes widened her act was working. " This doesn't sound like my Elizabeth, she would never betray me like this" Julian said taking a step towards her.

" Don't come any closer" she hissed even surprising her self at how cold she sounded." I'm not your anything, not anymore I've found some else, someone whos actually going places, not some loser whose head is full of dreams that are going nowhere" she said.

His eyes widened as his bottom lip trembled as tears gently fell from his eyes. " So that's what this is about, Money you know I was about to start start my own company ,we wouldn't have to worry about money ever again.

Elizabeth crossed her arms will giving a disdainful scoff.

" we've been married for over three years and how long have you've been making me the same promises, Oh Elizabeth once I start my own company you'll never have to worry about money again" she said.

She looked at Julian and saw that he was crying as he looked down at the floor as his heart broke . Her heart wants her to drop the act and rush to him will comforting him but she knew she had to continue.

" You know what my fiance was right, I've wasted three years with you, I married a piece of garbage, but you know what Luis was right ill never stoop so low again".

At the mention of Luis name Julians head snapped up and he looked at her. Elizabeth looked into his eyes that were puffy and red from crying. The warmth and love their completely evaporating like water droplets against a hot surface.

His aura became cold and suffocating as he wiped the tear away from his eyes.

" I see" was all he said as he turned away from a completely shocked Elizabeth who didn't recognize the man walking away from her anymore.

" Julian wait!" she said taking a step towards him. But his cold and emotionless voice stopped her in her completely in her tracks. " Don't" he said causing her to pull back her hands eyes wide he yanks their wedding ring of his finger and dropped it in the floor.

Julian marches down the hallway marching past lady Williams as her maid helped her to her room. See Ing his cold expression she knew what granddaughter had done.

Lady Williams saw Elizabeth standing in the hallway watching as Julian walked away she gave Elizabeth a disappointed look while shaking her head at then sighed walking into her room.
