CHAPTER 2

Williams Family Villa

Elizabeth and Julian stood in the foyer welcoming guests along with her parents as guests mingled around the impressive and expansive mansion drinking champagne and forming groups as a band played classical music for the Dancing couple.

Elizabeth had a faraway look in her eyes and Julian noticed so he hesitantly took her hand and squeezed gently. "Everything will be ok," he said thinking that she was upset about their encounter with Ava earlier.

She gave him a gentle smile that quickly faded as she remembered her father's words today after their altercation with Ava.

" Ah Wayne smith so glad that you could make it" her father said a large smile upon his face he walked towards the we'll dressed man.

The two men shake hands then he gestured for her and Julian to step forward. " allow you to introduce my youngest daughter Elizabeth Williams" Mr. Williams said with a proud smile upon his face. " Ah it's a pleasure to meet you," Elizabeth said shaking the man's hands she then held onto Julian's forearm and pulled him close.

" And this is my husband Julian," she said not noticing her father throwing a look of pure fury her way. Mr. Wayne looked at the young man dressed in his simple black suit with barely hidden scorn.

" A pleasure," Julian said ignoring the look of scorn Mr. Wayne was throwing him. Most of the other party guests stopped what they were doing to see what one of the most powerful and influential men in the city would do.

After thinking about it he shook the young man's hand. " That's a beautiful piece of art your wearing" Mr. Wayne raised an eyebrow. " Excuse me?" Julian then pointed to the watch he was wearing around his wrist. " your watch masterful piece of work, it's beautiful but ultimately a knock off" he said.

Everyone gasped as Mr. Wayne's eyes went wide. How dare this nobody to speak to such a powerful man in such a manner.

" Mr. Wayne ignore my son-in-law," he said But Mr smith held up a hand silencing Elizabeth's father while continuing to look at Julian before he chuckles.

" You have a good that's a good trait to have, It's an antique the real one was too valuable to water out in public," he said. He then looked at Mr. Williams ". Be careful Williams in a few years he might take your job" He jokes as everyone chuckles.

He gives Julian a respectful smile then walked off to join the rest of the party. " How did you know?" Elizabeth asked. Julian shrugs " I did my research he always says anyone that knows more about jewelry than him they would earn his respect, he will be a good ally to have when you start your company," Julian said.

Elizabeth looked at Julian as Mr. William marches up to his Son in law his eyes alight with fury." Your lucky Mr. Smith was in such a good mood, for the rest of the night I expect you to keep your mouth shut and stop making a complete fool of your self do you understand?" he whispered fiercely.

" Father" Elizabeth started but Julian squeezed her hand " Yes sir," he said. Mr. Williams straightened up " Good now go and help the servants in the kitchen" Julian nods then walked away taking a empty tray from one of the servants as he walked towards the kitchen.

" Father that was uncalled for" Elizabeth scolds her father who rolls his eye and walked away with her mother in tow.

The night continued much in the same way Julian helping the servants His wife and her family attending to guest.Until Mr William called for everyone's attention.

"good evening ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for coming to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday and I and my family are pleased with the number of Well wishes and gifts you've given her"

All the guests clap politely as Lady Williams descended the stairs with the help of her maid. She was lead gently and sat down at the center of the room in a golden chair. " Now we will begin giving her, her gifts," he said as a butler began reading out the names of those he wished to gift the Fragile lady.

Julian continued to listen to the gasps and applauds as the butler announced the gifts being gifted to Lady Williams. But Julian knew her that she hated these kind of guests. If her family had spent time with her they would have known she would have preferred a quiet dinner with her family.

And there was one gift that she wanted the most. Julian went into his pocket and took out the photo of the Orphanage. This was his gift to her for her to see the place that took care of her, this was her dream to see the Orphanage one last time.

" You didn't Buy a gift for lady Elizabeth how disappointing". The voice caused Julian to turn around and narrowed his eyes. Lucas smith stood there in an expensive suit looking at Julian in his plain black suit with an arrogant look upon his face.

He walked beside of Julian and stood there looking on as Elizabeth hugged her grandmother and handed her her gift. " She's a beauty isn't she?" he said trying to provoke a reaction from Julian when he didn't answer Lucas sighed disappointedly. " enjoy your time with her you never might now when your time will be cut short" he said patting Julian on the shoulder then walked away.

" Since that's everyone le...". Wait Julian shouted pushing to the front. " I also have a gift for lady Williams" he said as. he started to walk towards her as the other guests began whispering amongst themselves.

Elizabeth looked on curiously as her family had anger in there eyes as the watched Julian. He knelt down to Lady Williams level and took her hands. " Hi grandma" Julian said.

Lady Williams hearing Julian's voice perked up and smiled at him. " I know I couldn't buy anything expensive for you, so I got you this" he said taking out a wrapped picture frame and handed it to her. Lady Williams's hand shook as she slowly opened the gift and when she saw what it was she gasped.

Tears fell gently from her eyes as she looked at the picture of the Orphanage."Thank you my boy this is the best gift I've ever received" she said. she placed the picture down and held out her hands to Julian. After he helped her up she hugged him close as the guests clapped.

Elizabeth was smiling at the heartwarming sight along with her mother. She looked at the rest if her family and saw that they where upset about Julian giving a better gift than them.

Looking at Lucas he also looked upset as well" as she looked at her Husband and grandmother she knew this was the last happy memory she would have with him in her life.

And now it was her time to shed tears.
