CHAPTER I
I am not the b***h that everyone thinks I am. Well, not at least. But my current state defies every bit of the first ten words I’ve just mused. I have been calculating my movement, trying to be quite the cautious provoker of this game. And it seems like my partner is enjoying the way our mouths touch, completely forgetting to do his part to reciprocate my incitement. His tongue slides inside my already sloppy mouth once more, and I give in to the impression of knotting with him as the slick movement I do appears to turn him on so much. He’s one of the few men I flirted around that tries hard to showcase a vision of a predominant guy but just ends up boring me anyway. Now he’s slowly taking the next phase by slipping his right hand under the hem of my skirt. I pretended to enjoy his act by gasping just to keep his ecstasy going, yet the truth is, he pretty much sucks at all of these.  The moment was interrupted by the doorbell of his apartment. I wonder who would disrupt us this time around. The last time I eyed around my watch was around half-past seven in the evening already. This could be suspicious. He cued me to wait for a moment as he makes his steps towards the door. My curiosity lured me to quickly follow him despite his instruction to wait. I don’t really like it when people make me wait like a child. I am no longer a little girl to be ordered around by anyone, especially by this dude I happen to know about thirty minutes ago at the club. The strange thing about this that lures me to be suspicious was the rampant ringing of the doorbell. Why does it sound like the person from the other side of the door—whoever it might be—just seem to be impatient about getting the door open? And just as I thought, a woman in her late twenties appeared with her left brow raised at me. I understand how this woman’s instinct is going right now. The cloud above her head signaling ‘who the hell this b***h is?’ is too obvious that I can sense an apparent drama is going to happen anytime soon. “Make sure you think twice of the business proposal our company is offering you.” My ideas were as quick as a cheetah to this kind of situation. I know the woman won’t easily believe it but at least it would buy me a little time to get my sling bag from the couch. “Business proposal—oh yeah…” too bad that this dude is such a dimwit though. I hardly wanted any encounter with any legal wives or girlfriends at least. When I fling with men, I just flirt with them and then dump them when I’m done. That’s how it has been, like ever since I split up with Eugene.  Everything went completely f****d up from my end. The woman appeared to be unconvinced by my initial script until I pulled out a flyer from my purse and hand it over to the dude. I don’t actually remember his name since my practice is not to memorize their names. Why would I when I would just dump them the next day anyway?  “This is the tour package you wish to avail for your partner. Since she’s already here, I bet you’ll want to discuss it privately with her?” I had to quickly add convincing proof to my lie. Looks like working at La Sobelle saves me yet again this time. And just as I expected, the woman beamed towards the dude while spreading her arms wide before jumping over him with so much excitement. “Never knew you’d be preparing for our anniversary!” She said. The dude is still puzzled and completely puzzled. Of course, he cares too little for the woman then why would he even care for their freaking anniversary in the first place? I just had to eye him to cue that he needs to ride on with the statement or we’ll completely be in doom. And before she could even realize the whole lie, I immediately take my step out of the picture. “I’ll give you two some space for the decision on this matter. You just update me about the package.” And finally, I was able to exit the place. This isn’t the first time I had encountered such a scene. I’ve been in this situation every now and then and I have gotten myself used to the ways to get out of it so easily. Leaving the legal partners completely unaware I have been hitting on their man. It was really fun getting them all fooled, it was as if a dark experience of mine is being avenged. I am still laughing about the scene a while back after I got off the cab. But as soon as I reach the front step of our house, the laughter and smile instantly wore off from my face seeing the person—the man—whom I never ever wanted to see again and that is Eugene. “What are you even doing here?” I instantly asked with so much rage being contained. “I came to visit you.” “I don’t have time for you so get lost.” I rolled my eyes at him and tried to get past him but Eugene held me back. As his hand touched my elbow, I instantly had the reflex to shove it off and take my distance from him, “Why are you bothering me again, Eugene? Didn’t I make myself clear that I don’t want myself getting involved with you ever again? We’re over, so get a life!” The fury finally burst out of my mouth and I can very well witness through his reaction that he was stunned by my words. Well, served him right. Though it isn’t enough for what he had caused me before. Eugene took a breath in and exhaled it before opening his mouth to speak, “There is something that I need to tell you.” He spoke. I am done hearing all his lies. He came to talk to me before, like several times already, and never did he tell me anything true. All of it was either lies or anything that would make him the right one between us. I have never heard him admitted what he did to me. He never claimed that he took me and our relationship as a dare with his brother, Stefano. And when he was done, he just dumped me and our poor marriage. Partly, I was to be blamed for what happened. I was too tipsy to even think straight and just allowed him and his lawyer friend to play fool of a marriage vow between us. This is something I have never told anyone, not even my family or friends. That I got married to Eugene before leaving Monaco and then settling down a divorce the next day when I finally got my state of mind clear. Eugene was that influential that getting a divorce from his lawyer friend the next day wasn’t so much of a stress. And that’s when I realize how poor of a woman I am. I have always dreamt about getting married to a man who would cherish me and devote his life to me. But after what happened back in Monaco, and after our break up and divorce, I settled myself losing the hope of being able to find the right man for me. And so, begin the bitchy life that I have right now, thanks to this man is standing in front of me. “I don’t want to hear anything from you, Eugene! Leave me alone!” I pushed him away so that I could manage to escape and enter our house. And if he ever attempts to follow me inside, I wouldn’t even mind calling the police to arrest him for trespassing. But to my dismay, he didn’t follow me. Instead, Eugene stood outside as I stare at him beyond the see-through aluminum door of our house. When he said, “won’t you even listen if I told you that your two friends are missing for over a week now.” “My friends?” “Yes, Emalia and Thalia.” I shouldn’t be caring about what he said but when Eugene mentioned the two of them, I somehow felt odd like some kind of a triggering drive that made me curious to know what could have happened to them.
