“So.” I take a deep breath and face my daughter. “It’s time I come clean about something.”
Amelie and Caroline look at me, leaving me wondering if Amelie’s expecting a confession too. How much has Weiss told her? How much does she believe? Amelie has insisted about being honest with my daughter about what’s going on, and I’m biting the bullet and doing it.
Later this evening, I’ll bite another bullet entirely. Because, to my astonishment, Amelie made an appointment with a world-renowned IVF and sperm retrieval specialist just thirty minutes away … same day.
