I couldn’t understand how this was happening. I knew that I was not going to keep Victor and my divorce under wraps for too long, but here I was reading a salacious article from the sleaziest tabloid in New York City, The Investigator, in which they reported that I was having a yearlong affair with a close Bernardi family relative, and that Victor had found out. They even reported that he had moved out of our mansion and was demanding a divorce. I was left in total shock. Besides some inaccuracies here and there, they seem to have gotten the main story right, and I knew for them to be so close to the truth, someone in the know must have leaked it.
