The one place Freya calls home Is the one place she hate the most. But the one thing she despise with her heart was being bound to someone she barely knows in the form of a mate.
Freya woke up to a heated argument between her foster father and his wife- Mandy.
She got to notice that he wasn't her actual father when she once ran to him crying and asked if she was actually his real daughter because people in the neighbourhood kept calling her the pick up girl.
He sat her down and said “I actually picked up from the river bank. Nobody wanted to take you as they all watched you cry. I saw the beauty in you and decided to take you home and make you my beautiful pup” he said, hugging and wiping her tears.
As she reminisced she got up from her bed, went to the bathroom, did her thing and went out.
She was greeted by Lily, Mandy's daughter. She carried her up and spun her round making the little girl giggle.
Today felt off but she couldn't point out what it was. She had a strong intuition that something good and bad will happen. Her intuition has never been wrong.
“Freya, go make breakfast.” Mandy said from the living room.
She sighed and went to prepare something. She made sure to be careful in order not to overcook the food, and not to undercook it as well.
She brought the food to the living room and placed it on a table before Mandy. She took one good look at it and said,
“It's looks awful, take it away” her voice laced in irritation.
“But you haven't tasted it yet” Freya tried protesting but Mandy cut her off by throwing the food on her face.
Freya dashed to the kitchen and cleared up the food and prepared a new one, fortunately she accepted the second dish.
Freya prepared for school thereafter, and walked to school. On her way, she spotted a black car. The car window was down and she peeped inside to see who was in, only to find Jason k****e. As if in sync, he too turned to stare at her with his deep blue coloured eyes. Her heart skipped a beat, and she pushed her glasses to the bridge of her nose, clenched her bag tightly and averted her eyes.
Her face is equally red as a ripe tomato.
The car sped off and she found herself walking to the school, her heart still pounding heavily in her chest.
She entered her noisy class with her head low and walked straight to her assigned seats.
Vicky walked in after, hands in hands with Carl as they flashed their teeth like they worked for a toothpaste company.
Vicky sat beside Freya
“Where were you yesterday? You left without me fay” she said with a puppy eyes face.
She was about to answer when Martin stepped in, walking straight to Freya.
“What happened to you yesterday? Why were you soaked with juice?” He slammed his hands on the table making her flinch.
“Guys I'm fine. It was just an accident. Don't worry about it” she gave a warm assuring smile.
“You didn't look fine yesterday. Tell us what really happened” Martin let out his concern.
She sighed, about to speak when Jason walked in. His aura changes the atmosphere, giving goosebumps to not alone Freya but to the other students as well..the only person who wasn't scared of Jason was Vicky.
She tried not to look at him but failed as she decided to peep only to find his gaze heavy on her.
She tucked her head low to avoid his gaze, her wolf kept hollowing but she doesn't know why. His pheromones were so strong, filling her nostrils making it difficult to breathe.
“What's wrong Fay? Is he bothering you?” Vicky asked, resting her hands on Freya's back.
Freya shook her head, no.
“I just have something in my eyes, so I wanted to remove it” Freya lied hoping Vicky will buy it. Unfortunately she saw through the lies of her friend.
“That's it. I'm going over there” she threw her hands in the air before slamming them hard on the desk, getting up but Freya held her back.
“What are you doing Vicky?” Freya said
“I'm going to give that, good for nothing jerk, a piece of my mind for messing with you” she said, releasing her hands from Freya's hold. Freya couldn't watch as she tucked her head low again.
Vicky walked over to Jason's desk, where he sat with his friends. They all stopped when she arrived.
Vicky stood in front of them, her hip in akimbo style.
“What's the matter with you Jason? What is your deal with Freya?” She said, crossing her arms against her chest, clearly . Jason ignored her and glanced over her shoulder to see Freya's head buried on her desk.
“I have no problem with your friend. She is the one that has a problem with me” Jason's voice was icy and cold, lacking all forms of expression.
“What is the meaning of that? Ever since you set your eyes on her, you've always hated her. Why? Because you're an alpha? Because she's an omega? Because she's your mate?” Vicky clearly didn't mean what she said as it was a rhetorical question. But the word stung Jason right to the heart.
His face went from expressionless to form a scowl as he stood up.
“Never ever say such words to me. Never assume such nonsense. If I ever hear you say it again, I promise you that will be the end of your days” he threatened angrily looking at Vicky who had a menacing smile plastered on her face.
“Huh” she scoffed with her shoulder
“So she is your mate. Who would ever think of that, the Alpha's cold and ruthless son is mated to an omega by the Moon Goddess” she mocked.
Jason was at his peak and was about to lash out on her when their teachers arrived interrupting them
Vicky strolled over to her seat beside Freya.
“You shouldn't have Vicky, I was fine….”
“Don't tell me that, Freya. He is a bully and he needs to be treated like one. And besides, you've been saying that for years now yet you can't even stand beside him without wetting your pants” she said rolling her eyes.
Freya sighed and brought out her books for the lecture when she felt eyes on her, she slowly turned back to see Jason boring into her eyes. His eyes flashed gold before returning to normal. She couldn't tell if he's angry or something else but felt it wasn't good.
The lesson lasted for about an hour, and in the midst of the lectures Freya felt a burning sensation on her lower abdomen. The feeling was gradual but it became full blown pain and she couldn't hold it any longer.
Vicky noticed the look of discomfort on her face and asked.
“Are you alright Fay?” She whispered not wanting to interrupt the teacher.
“I'm having an ache” she barely spoke.
“You should use the restroom” Vicky suggested to which Freay agreed.
“Excuse me ma’am, may I use the restroom?” She stood up raising her hands while using her free hand to rub gently on her aching belly.
“Sure” The teacher gave her permission to leave.
On her way to the restroom, The pain suddenly increased and felt more excruciating than before, this made her unable to move freely. She struggled to go closer to the restroom which was about a few feet's away. She pushed forward, dragging her body and almost crawling on the floor. At last she managed to enter the restroom and just sat on the floor.
“What is happening to me?” She thought.
Like a light bulb idea, she realised something.
“The only reason to this pain is if I'm on heat”
Immediately that word left her mouth the door burst open, revealing Jason holding a male student by the collar. he looked really beaten with his eyes swelled up, and his lips bursted
“What are you doing here?” Freya said through the pain. She closed her eyes and clenched her belly, trying to subdue the pain but to no avail as the pain increased.
Jason dropped the students and walked over to her bending to her level.
“You're in heat, if you haven't realised that. Why must you come to school while you're in this period” Jason stated, worry filled his words. Freya was confused as to why he's here telling her these.
“You need to go to the clinic,” Jason said, helping her up.
“Why are you helping me? I thought you hated me?” Freya said at the brink of tears.
“That's not why I'm here. I saw you walking here looking helpless, and your pheromones filling the atmosphere making other wolves hungry for you” he narrated while taking her out of the ladies restroom.
He helped her to the clinic and informed the nurse about her predicament.
“Why did you come to school when you knew you were in heat” the school nurse asked checking her.
“I didn't know, I just realized it” she answered
“Luckily for you, someone helped you. If it were another person, they would have taken advantage of you” she said while checking off something in her note.
Freya stayed silence thinking of what to say.
“Any way you're free to go. Don't forget to use this meds, they'll help subside the pain” the nurse finished before leaving.
Freya got up and was about to leave, The first thing that came to her mind was to thank Jason but when she wanted to talk to him, he suddenly vanished.
