Freya rolled her eyes as Jason left her house. Vicky’s call came across again and this time she was hesitant. She had found her secret and wasn't going to be happy about it.
“Hi” Freya said and the person on the other side got quiet.
“Vicky are you there?” She asked again.
“Why haven't you told me since, Fay? Haven't I been good to you? Did I in any way offend you” Vicky said angrily. Freya sighed before speaking up.
“I'm sorry you had to find out like this. I kept this hidden because, you know Jason and I aren't someone who gets along with each other” Freya explained
“You should at least told me. I am your friend for heavens sake. I would never judge or mock you like others. I want the best for you” She encourage
“I know and I will never forget it, but sometimes I just don't know how to let out my feelings. I'm sorry Vicky” Vicky sighed followed by a long stretched pause before she continued.
“I understand what you mean… just don't keep everything to yourself okay? I hate seeing you keep things from me” her voice filled with worry
“I won't” Freya found herself smiling and soon they ended the call.
After she ended the call, her father Sam called her into his studies. She sat in his studies waiting for his return from the bathroom, she sat fidgeting with her hands and tried to gather courage. She knew well what he was about to say and was going to say it first. He returned minutes later and sat on his chair.
“Freya, I know there's been a lot going on, with the strange illness and finding your mate… what is on your mind? I'm ready to support your decision” he said, his voice deep and gentle.
Freya took a deep breath and blurted out her concerns
Freya took a deep breath and blurted out her concerns. "Father, it's about Jason” she paused staring at his pupils before continuing
“I don't want to be his mate”
“And why's that? He's the Alpha’s son and I know he will..
“He won't do nothing dad. He's now who think he is” she blurted out and Sam sighed. He's expression turned thoughtful, his brow furrowed in concern.
“You know how things are run here Freya. Mates are chosen for a reason, a reason best for us. Jason is a strong and worthy partner. Why do you reject him?” He asked
Freya hesitated, unsure of how to articulate her feelings. "It's just...we've always clashed, Father. We're too different. And now, with the forced mating...I feel trapped." She said trying to convince her dad with her reasons
Mr Myers nodded sympathetically at her concern, he placed his hands on her back.
"I understand what you're saying Fay. But sometimes, we must make sacrifices for the greater good, even if it costs our own happiness. Perhaps, in time, you will find common ground with Jason, and your feelings will change. But if not, we will find a way to make this work, together." He assured her gaining smile from her.
Freya's father leaned forward, his eyes filled with a deep understanding. "Freya, I know this isn't easy for you. But I want you to remember that you are strong and capable. You have the heart of a true Alpha, just like your mother. And I have faith that you will find a way to make this work, even if it's not what you envisioned for your life."
“I know you can do this and whatever that's bothering you, I'm open to hear them. Think about it Fay, the pack is in need of an alpha and they can't crown him one without his Luna by his side”
“You're a strong brave, smart girl. I know you will make the right decision” he said patting her on her back.
“Thank you dad” she feign a smile before getting up and left for her room.
“I should take a walk, maybe it'll clear my mind” she said to herself. She wore her hiking gear and set up to climb to the mountains to clear her head.
She laced up her hiking boots and slung her backpack over her shoulder, eager to escape the tension at home and in school.
She went out and started climbing the hills and letting nature dawn on her. She felt relieved instantly and her body felt air.
After a moment she decided to go back home.
As she hiked down, she noticed a grip of wolves from a distance her first thought was that they were inflicted but it turned out, they were perfectly normal after close inspection. She scanned a number of them untill she saw a familiar face- Jason. Her heart skipped a beat. They seemed to be searching for something when they saw her too.
"Freya," Jason said immediately his gaze met hers, his deep voice carrying across the distance. "What are you doing out here alone?" Walking closely
Freya hesitated a bit, fidgeting with her hands, unsure if she should be annoyed or grateful for their concern. "I just needed a hike," she replied, her voice was calm and calculating
"I didn't expect to run into you." She said
Jason's eyes narrowed. "We're patrolling. We've had reports of rogues in the area."
“Rogues?” She questioned
“I haven't seen any so far”
“Well, we're at alert, they're close by. Stick with us” is voice was firm and commanding. As they strolled, Freya’s eyes never left his body movement.
He looked way more built than a 19 year old.
Jason turned abruptly and met her gaze and she averted them immediately, stumbling on a stone.
“Ow” she whined, and a hand streched forth to her, she looked up to see one of the pack members helping her. She took the hands and got up.
Suddenly they heard footsteps approaching, with speed.
