Fiona’s POV
Cullin just got up and left. How am I supposed to take that? Ivy is crying in my head and giving me a headache by yelling about stupid humans. James and his dad were yelling about how I needed to tell him everything, and how maybe I should have gone a little slower, but how do you gently tell anyone that information? I cannot move a mussel, and just stay sitting rocking Spencer back and forth. I got to wake him up soon so that he sleeps somewhat for his nap and will actually go to bed tonight.
“Fiona, are you okay?” Isaac leans over and asks me.
“Huh?” I broke out of the trance I was in.
“Are you going to go talk to him?” He asks, reaching out to grab Spencer from me.
“Why would I go after him? He left as soon as he found out about you boys. Why would I give him the time of day? Plus, the Alpha meeting starts in thirty minutes, and I still need to get dressed.” I state just shaking my head.
‘Fiona,” Alpha Andrew starts, “You need to give him a chance; you just dropped a bombshell on him and he needs to process it all. Plus, it’s not like you have told him everything yet.”
I just roll my eyes. I do not want to even begin to cover who my parents were and who my uncles are now. I had a little over a month before I had to take over, and I did not want to waste it tracking down my mate.
“Fiona, do me a favor, please? Just give him a chance. How about, until your birthday? Give it your all, share all there is to share and get to know him?” He questions, giving me the dad look.
“Why?” I hammer back.
“You know the chance of you having a second chance mate is what less than 1%?” James tries to reason.
“No less than .01% because of my mom’s linage…” I mutter under my breath. In werewolf lore, only 10% of the population has a second chance mate. However, those of royal linage have even less of a chance. It goes down to 2%. But you mix in the fact that my mother was not a wolf, and a hybrid at that, it goes down even farther… I knew this was my only chance at having my true destined mate.
“See... You got to give him a chance. The benefit of the doubt.” Isaac frowns looking across the room from me.
“Okay, so I will make a deal. You three do not go running to Ethan and Evan, and I will give him two weeks. After two weeks I will tell him about what happens on January first, and who we are. They need to accept you boys and me before they find out about everything. I will ask him to stay one week here, and then I will go there for one week.” I reason.
“You are going to move all of us for one week, to see if it works out between the two of you?” Isaac panics.
“Oh s**t… I didn’t think of that…” I sink down onto the couch again. Spencer is getting heavy, so I shift him and he starts to wake up.
“How about Isaac and the twins go with you? And we can take care of the quints and the triplets here?” James asks looking between my brother and his father.
“Sure we could handle that!” Alpha Andrew said.
“Just one problem…” Isaac whispers. James and his father both look at him, and I could tell by his body language that I was not going to like the next thing that came out of his mouth.
“What did you do?!” I snap at him. I knew my brother well enough to know that the way he was acting meant I am going to want to string him from the ceiling.
“After last night, I might have called Ethan, who called Evan.” Isaac looks like he is going to pee his pants. I am giving him the death stare. Why would he do this?!
“Fi! I had to. Plus, I originally called Ethan to let him know that Spencer got hurt, and then he asked about everything that happened. And well, I said you had your block up, so I could not reach you. Ethan was like WTF, and I was like, well she met her mate, and I had to break them apart, and well you know…” he defends.
Ethan and Isaac have always been close, and he got to play cool uncle while mom and dad had to discipline us. Then, when they were gone, the discipline fell to me, and Ethan and Evan still got to zoom in on their white wolves. Ethan is dad’s younger brother, and he was mated to Mike. They never had kids and said that the 12 of us kids were enough. Evan wasn’t as close to us as Ethan. Evan was mom’s younger brother, and he was mated to Mark. They are waiting for retirement to adopt, and have a big old family. The crazy thing is how close Evan and Ethan are; everyone thought they were mates until they both turned 18.
“YOU DIDN’T!” I scream. Spencer fully wakes up in my arms.
“Momma, why loud?” Spencer coos.
“Sorry Spence, Isaac is being a butt.” I joke smiling. James and Alpha Andrew laugh a bit.
“Okay well, I tried, but I couldn’t stop them…” Isaac whispers again. He looks down and tries not to make eye contact.
“Couldn’t stop them from what?” I sneer. What fresh hell did he get me into now? The uncles love to dote on the boys, but I got the 5th degree about everything.
Just then James and his dad’s eyes glaze over, someone must be mind-linking them.
“Would it happen to have anything to do with why the King is at the border?” James questions Ethan when his eyes go back to normal.
“They… didn’t…” I stammer out.
“Yup,” Isaac pops the p.
“There are 14 visiting alphas and now the king is here. This is going to be a very interesting Harvest Moon meeting.” James laughs.
“Do you think I have time to hide?” I ask, just then there is a knock on the door.
The werewolf king himself walks in, all 6 feet 11 of him. He was tall and had the same green eyes as me, but the twins' blond hair.
“Good morning, Andrew, James, sorry to intrude, but I heard that my niece met her mate. And I just needed to congratulate the happy couple in person.” The king states.
“E!” Spencer jumps out of my lap and into his arms. The small tike looked like a Barbie in his arms.
“Well, isn’t it, my brave little nephew? How many stitches did they give you!?” the king coddles the pup in his arms.
“Ethan he only got 5. He is fine.” I roll my eyes
“Oh, my favorite niece is here too!” the king smiles turning his eyes to me.
“I am your only niece you weirdo.” I giggle. Getting up to hug the brute that is my uncle.
